I think it's really more a question of "how long would Dumbledore last?"

YUP. For me, it's the key difference: one uses magic. The other IS magic.

I'd say Gandalf, but i may be a bit biased with my love of LOTR and loathing of the HP franchise

I mean the article nails it on the head. That would be funny if Gandalf could apparate! "Hey Frodo, grab my arm...''' swoosh.... "Now Frodo after the queasiness passes can you toss that ring down in to the lava. Then we can go back to the party!" The End!

I'm going with Gandalf all the way! I'm a huge fan of magic users and Gandalf is top-tier.
