May 20May 20 CB Team The Boys has now wrapped up after five seasons. I thought the ending was solid. I wish there'd been a lot more time for everything, as it felt rushed and things weren't given the necessary room to breathe, but in terms of where each character ended up, it stuck the landing for me. What did you think?
May 20May 20 CB Team Yeah, I really liked the last episode, the first half of the season was the most chaotic and disconnected but I felt by the last half they had largely steered the ship in the right direction. Can't help but notice how much of the ending was clearly leaving room for a revival or season 6 down the road, though.
May 20May 20 CB Team I actually haven't watched any episodes, can they be watched without knowing anything about the comics?
May 20May 20 I'm on the fence..I felt like they could have done more since they deviated away from the source material. However, still content with the way they went and the outcomes.

Agree they left a lot of things open - I'll be shocked if we don't get present-day Soldier Boy scenes in Vought Rising, wouldn't be surprised if there was a "Ryan still has powers!" reveal somewhere, Starlight and Hughie could easily turn up in The Boys: Mexico or something (I don't want these things, to be clear), and I hope we'll get more of the Gen V characters somewhere

There's no way they don't do some kind of revival series in a couple of years, especially if the franchise keeps going beyond Vought Rising

May 21May 21 CB Team I was really hoping that there would be a bigger spectacle and scope to the finale, given how much smaller and more contained the final season felt. It felt really small and simplistic, and the action scenes weren't the best. All in all, I think the show peaked with Season 3.
May 23May 23 CB Team I think the finale was pretty great, but it had a noticeable energy shift that was just not there with the final season. Everything was so slow to get anywhere, and the stakes didn't get as big as you would have hoped with Homelander believing he was a god. I wish the episodes were structured to feel like the big developments didn't just happen in the premiere and finale. Also, way too much soldier boy for him not to be involved in the finale at all. What a weird move that's obviously plugging the spinoffs
