Do character deaths even matter anymore?

It seems like every major comic book death eventually gets reversed. A character dies, everyone talks about it for a few months, and then they're back with a new costume, a clone, a multiverse variant, or some other explanation.

Has that made it harder for you to get invested in death stories, or do you think the occasional resurrection is just part of comics?

What's one character return that you thought was handled well, and one that should have stayed permanent?

For me it's just part of comics, and honestly, that also extends to TV and movies. Most deaths are still impactful if handled correctly and not done just for shock value, so it only really bothers me when that's clearly not the case.

I think the death of Ms. Marvel was handled terribly, while the death of Hal Jordan was handled quite well.
