Feels like there's been so many spinoffs in this series that I totally forgot the "final" Conjuring is right around the corner. Is there really any interest in this franchise anymore? Consensus seems like the first two Conjuring movies are good, the rest of the movies are "not bad" to "bad."

I was wondering why the ads haven't been playing up the "final Conjuring movie" aspect more, I imagine that would help lure a lot of people back in. I think this franchise is in a tricky spot because a lot of people want it to be cheesy, but if it tries to be cheesy, they won't like it.

Sadly, there's no way this series dies anytime soon, it has too much brand recognition to be able to take any generic supernatural thriller and retrofit it to fit in The Conjuring franchise. I get what you're saying, though, that other than having "Last" in the title, they're not doing much to make this a sendoff to Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

Ok, I have a sad story to share. Here, where I live, I pay a monthly subscription that gives me unlimited access to movie theaters of a specific chain, and I can always take someone with me. That means I sometimes go to the theaters because my plus one really wants to watch a movie. I saw The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It earlier, as a journalist, and I hated it. It's so bland as to be offensive. Then, when it hit theaters, a friend of mine really wanted to watch it, so I watched it again. Then, my girlfriend decided she also wanted to watch it... I watched that movie three times on the big screen, and I despised every second of it.

I know the franchise is not ending, but I hope it does. The cinematic universe has more misses than hits, and they obviously dried out the creative well.

I haven't heard good reviews about the new one, but I'll watch it anyway. I like the series and will give it a shot.

I started the series from the beginning this past weekend so I can see them all in order before watching the latest installment. Either way, I'm excited to see how it all ends. I've enjoyed the movies so far.
