FantasticJerome

Junkyard Joe is pretty good and I think it's only 6 issues. I've only read the first issue of Lost Fantasy, but it definitely has potential! I'll probably pick up the trade paperback.

I see Something is Killing the Children every time I go to my local shop and have been considering starting it. I may give it a shot next time I'm in there.

Have you looked up recently sold on ebay? That's usually where I go to see how much they are selling for instead of just looking at listings. That's if there have been any sales.

If anyone’s been curious about trying something outside Marvel and DC, Image has been putting out $1 first issues for a lot of their titles. It’s a great way to sample new stories without spending much. The Unnamed Universe line has been really solid so far. Geiger, Redcoat, Junkyard Joe, and Rook: Exodus are all great series. They’ve also got some great standalone series like Lost Fantasy if you’re into that genre. Image is doing some of the best world-building right now. Definitely worth checking out if you want something different.

I think she could do it. Especially the New Avengers team. Maybe Sam Wilson on the main team and Yelena for the New Avengers. I think it would be a good mix. I really like her as a character.

I’ve only read Predator vs. Spider-Man and Predator Kills the Marvel Universe so far. The Spider-Man series really pushes the boundaries of what you usually see in his comics, especially in a few of those darker panels. It was definitely a surprise! Predator Kills the Marvel Universe takes things to another level and makes the hunters feel almost super-villain scale. I’m curious how the tone compares in the other crossovers like Predator vs. Wolverine or Predator vs. Black Panther. I'm hoping to read those soon. I've always been a Predator fan and these recent matchups are a nice addition to the lore.

Same lol I have so many comics to catch up on anyway, I'm at least a week or two behind.

I started News From the Fallout but forgot to get the 2nd issue when it first came out and got behind. Is it pretty good? The Space Ghost covers look amazing!

I'll watch it first, then come back and read your review on here.

I've been meaning to see this one! I liked the first one.

I see now I should have added more heroes to the list 😂I honestly don't know where Marvel will take the Avengers next

I’ll start with One World Under Doom. I picked it up recently and really enjoyed it. It feels like a classic Marvel event story but with a new energy. I’m curious if anyone else has read it yet and what you think of the direction they’re taking with Doom.

Whether you’re brand new to comics or just getting back into them, this is the place to share and discover great reads. Drop your favorite series, story arcs, or graphic novels that you think everyone should try at least once. Old or new, Marvel or DC, indie or webcomic, it all counts. If you can, tell us why you recommend it and what makes it special.

Yes and while he's not on Steve Rogers' level, he could still lead a team that's significantly more powerful than him. He could be the voice of reason. I do miss Steve though, he had it all.

I thought of that too. I recently watched the Thunderbolts and liked it. I need to rewatch it. So were they supposed to replace the Avengers at the end or was it a teaser? My kids were loud when we were watching it and I wasn't able to pay attention.

Good points all around. I agree that Strange makes the most sense right now since he’s already handling multiverse-level threats. I should have added T’Challa and Luke Cage to the poll, though. Both have led the Avengers in the comics and would make strong options if Marvel ever brings them forward in the MCU again. I wasn't sure of the status of T'Challa if they were planning on recasting him or bringing up T'Challa Jr to take his place. That would make sense and he would be a great contender to lead. You're right about the star power of a few of the actors and I don't think Captain Marvel is well received.

The Avengers are scattered after Endgame and the world feels like it needs a new team to step up. Some heroes have the experience, others have the power, and a few have the heart to bring everyone together again. With Secret Wars on the horizon and rumors of multiversal crossovers, who do you think should lead the Avengers in the next era?

I haven't read any Moon Knight, but I used to play him on Marvel Ultimate Alliance lol. I'll have to check out the comics.

I think you'll like it! I believe they are on issue #7 or 8 so you don't have too much to catch up on. They have some amazing Doom covers from the 2025 NYCC Whatnot Year in Marvel packs that are worth checking out.

I'll have to think about this one, but I can almost always say it's the lawyers in TV series! It's nothing like that in real life and so many people went to law school recently because they watched law dramas and thought it was like that all the time.

Same! Issue #2 came out yesterday and I can't wait to pick it up from the shop. The art is just fantastic. I wish I could draw like that lol

I'll admit I've never played this one. I've heard a lot about it, but it may have been around the time I started college and didn't keep a TV in my dorm.

They're spoiling us with so many great releases!

I agree, the new Fantastic Four was a great surprise! I normally wouldn't read them, but randomly grabbed the cover with Galactus and it was really good.

I’ve always wanted to try cosplay but never fully committed. We’ve been to a few comic cons over the years, and I want to start going more regularly and this time actually participating. I’ve always loved TMNT, so I was thinking of doing a Shredder or Casey Jones. Or maybe even my security guard character from Fantastic Four. I’d need something relatively easy for a first attempt since I don’t have any experience making costumes yet. What are some other characters that would be good for a beginner? I’d love ideas that look great but don’t require a ton of complex materials or armor-building skills.
