Of course, Rosalina had to be in the first trailer, given the movie title. We also guessed Bowser Jr. would be in the movie due to the product packaging leak earlier this week... But I was not expecting Mario Odyssey references! Seeing the Sand Kingdom got me genuinely excited! Also, kudos for the fighting sequence with Rosalina. This franchise is more interesting when the princesses kick ass.

Oh, and Brie Larson is the perfect voice cast!

I was so skeptical of this series when it was first announced and Pratt was attached - but they've really hit it out of the park. The animation is beautiful and elevates it beyond the game. And they've done a great job of balancing fan nostalgia with broader appeal.

Definitely excited for this one.

I'm still just waiting on the Donkey Kong spinoff at this point. Surprised Yoshi didn't show up!

I still haven't seen the first one, so my hype level is mid. I do love Brie Larson, though, so I might need to catch up in time for this one next year.
