I guess by now everyone has gotten the time to take a look at the new Absolute Batman. I really like how Snyder is doubling down on horror, but I still don't know for sure where he's taking this series... I felt the Bane arc was a bit scattered, and Absolute Batman is lagging behind Super, Wonder Woman, and Martian Manhunter imo.

I feel like Snyder is starting to use Absolute Batman to just do a lot of the same things he's done before but edgier which is fine, I guess. It's well-done. I'm just not dazzled by it.

I like the idea that there's some potential for commentary about billionaires and the manipulation of society, but I'm not going to hold my breath that we're going to dig into that much.

Martian Manhunter is still killing it in terms of the Absolute titles, if you ask me.

Yep. That's how I feel about Absolute Batman. It's fun, it's a nice thrill ride, I like seeing the over-the-top panels... But in the end, it's not something I'll be thinking about after I read it.

Of all the "well now the Batman villain is a big monster" takes in Absolute Batman, this is the one that at least makes the most sense.

Yeah, I'm really not finding Absolute Batman to be as much fun as the other books. This Joker feels... lesser somehow.

I've really enjoyed what Snyder's been doing in Absolute Batman, and while Absolute Wonder Woman and Absolute Superman are still my favorites, Batman isn't too far behind. I'm not a Joker diehard by any means so I'm all for trying some new things with the character, and dig the flip with Batman. Also I adored the Bane arc, but perhaps that's because I also love when Snyder just gets to do crazy stuff. I will defend DC Metal forever!
