What do you most want to see from the DCU's future (and do you want another Justice League yet)?

Featured Replies

Peter Safran gave an update on the DCU slate, including saying they know they're headed in the direction of Justice League eventually, but they're not really talking about it yet. He also mentioned Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and that the Gorilla Grodd show (the Jimmy Olsen/villains mockumentary-style series) will start filming this year.

What are you excited for from the DCU, what projects do you want to see happen, and when should they even start to think about doing the Justice League again?

I'd ordinarily say I want to build to the Justice League slowly, but the DCU has always been sold as an established world of heroes, and we know Batman is already out there, so it stands to reason that the other members could be too. So maybe we don't need origin stories. I think the issue with the DCEU version was Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman felt like main players, and then the others were sort of bolted on quickly and then we had to learn to care about them later.

Honestly, I just want another Batman movie on top of what Matt Reeves is doing, and I'd quite like to see something like a Justice League Dark. But I'm not holding my breath on the latter.

Eh, I think the DCEU rushing into Justice League is what caused that problem though (well, it was one factor), so I'd rather take a lot more time here and have more movies like Superman.

I don't even want another Batman, ha, I just want Reeves' movies there, and would rather have the DCU Batman after that's totally done, but I know that's not going to happen (and I still trust James Gunn to get it right and do something different enough).

I do want a Justice League but I hope they build up to it this time - not try to rush it. It might be hard to do full reboots on all these characters (can they really do a new Aquaman this soon, for example) but I'd at least like to see solo Batman and Wonder Woman movies before we try to do a full team-up.

Yeah, I agree with that - I'm fine with no Justice League (or Aquaman, for that matter) until the 2030s

I'm in no rush to see another Justice League. I'm a big fan of the patient approach they're taking. Just keep making good movies that stand on their own and work as movies.

I'm curious to see Brave and the Bold and how they pull off the two Batmen thing with the Reeves series still going on

I'm worried about the animated shows! My Adventures with Superman is legit one of the best things they have right now, and I hope it doesn't get shelved within the Paramount merger and DC Studios' lack of interest outside of Gunnverse projects. Need more of these elseworlds projects
