I wish I could be more hyped for Avengers: Doomsday right now, but even after that trailer I can't shake the feeling that it's just kinda wack. I haven't seen Spider-Man yet so dont know if that's going to restore my love for the Marvel stuff, but how's everyone else feeling about it?

I am more curious to see how they pull this off than actually excited to see the movie. It just feels like Marvel admitting they screwed up big time after Endgame and they're trying to play the hits to generate buzz.

It's not just Doom that lacks buildup. So many of the characters in this haven't been built up. Before Infinity War, we had an Iron Man trilogy, a Cap trilogy, a Thor trilogy, two GOTG movies, two other Avengers movies, multiple appearances from Widow, Hawkeye, Black Panther, Spider-Man. Doomsday feels like smashing the action figures together.

I still have hope for it. My biggest concern is the size of the cast. There are a lot of characters who still haven't had much development, so I'm hoping they don't get lost in the shuffle.

That said, I think Marvel needed to raise the stakes. A villain like Doom gives all these different heroes a reason to come together, and with Secret Wars right around the corner, I'm excited to see where it goes.

This right here. We have a movie with a bunch of characters that had little to no exposition in the past three years, and a massive cast of characters who don't know each other in-universe.
