Hot take: I'm glad the snyderverse is over... Fight me

Wow! Woke up and chose violence!

I’m torn. I would have liked to have scene where Snyder took the Justice League storyline. But also wasn’t a huge fan of Flash, Aquaman 2, and Wonder Woman 84. I know he was out by then but the DNA in them was showing inherent issues with the smear the universe got developed after him.

His Justice League cut is great though and I would have loved to see part 2 out of curiosity. I still want to see Ayer’s Suicide Squad as well.

That said, I love that Superman 2025 got people interested in the character again. And while I thought Supergirl was a mess, Milly is great. So there are some good pieces in place there.

I would honestly be ok with Snyder making the second Justice League movie he wanted, without studio intervention, IF it could run parallel to the current universe. I don't want the Snyder style to take over, and while Supergirl was a mess, as @Ben Kendrick said so politely, we already got Peacemaker and Lanterns that I'm crazy about, and Superman and Creature Commandos that I really like. So we are going in a great direction.

I don't know if I'd say I'm glad it's over, but I do think starting fresh was probably the right move. There were definitely things I liked about the Snyderverse, especially the cast, but it never really felt like everything came together the way it should have.

I would have liked to see Snyder finish his Justice League story just to see where he was going with it. At the same time, I'm enjoying seeing DC get another chance to build something that hopefully lasts this time.

I'll echo what others have said here that it would have been nice to have seen Snyder get a chance to finish his story to give everything some closure. I was never super into the Snyderverse, but I did like Man of Steel and was higher on BvS than some (although that movie still has some problems). Then everything went sideways.

I've been a fan of Gunn's work since the first Guardians and was happy his Superman was so well-received, so I'm not complaining that they reset.

I agree. I'm looking forward to the future.

Also agree with you guys. I think Snyders dark cinematography fit a Gotham theme, and BvS worked (with everyone wanting a few Monday morning quarterback fixes). I’m happy with the new look and direction. Fingers crossed.

Same. I like the new direction and the kids are actually excited about seeing more movies set in that universe.

Are they? Demographics for Supergirl did not lean kid oriented last I checked.

There’s nothing kid friendly about Creature Commandos, Peacemaker or Lanterns. Think of all the properties in the DCU right now and point to things I can watch with my 7 year old.
