Absolute Batman this, Absolute Batman that...

... but Batman: Dark Patterns is actually the best Batman book being published right now, and too many people are sleeping on it.

Anyone else reading this?

Far and away my favorite with Absolute. My thoughts are as much as I'm excited for Matt Fraction and Love Tom Taylors writing. PKJ should move to main after Batman and Robin and Dan Watters should be main on Detective.

I think Dark Patterns actually reads like a novel: it's deep, engrossing, and immersive in a way that few Batman books are - really leaning on '40s Film Noir genre tropes in the best way.

That's all to say: I think it's the type of book where the people who read it do so dedicatedly, but it's not patterned (swidt?) after a normal comic, with big "Ooh! Aah! WHOA!" dramatics built into each issue.

I predict this will be one hell of a good prestige graphic novel collection or an omnibus at some point. And it will be worth it! 🤑

I actually haven't heard of Dark Patterns, which is odd because I go to my local comic book shop weekly. Maybe it just got overcrowded with Absolute Batman and the numerous covers they always make. I'll check it out next time I'm in there.

I haven't actually read Dark Patterns yet so I need to make some time for it. Got lost in the shuffle a bit for me.

Same. I actually hadn't heard of it until I saw this thread, so now I'm going to grab a few issues and see how it is.
