Wolverine got me thinking about some of the games I played when I first started gaming, and the one that comes to mind as the first superhero game for me is the X-Men Arcade Game. I used to head into my local arcade and go through a ton of quarters trying to beat that game, and it's been a favorite ever since. What was your first superhero game, and what did you think?

How do you feel about in-game purchases? I really miss the days where you can play a game, complete everything, and you're done. Maybe a DLC here and there which adds content to the game. But I'm tired of certain items and stuff being locked behind a paywall. I get that company's need to make money. So I do appreciate those who do spend money in-game to keep a free game running, But personally I can't find myself to spend money in a game that isn't actually going to give me more game content rather than just cosmetics. I've been getting into open world adventure gaming lately, starting with Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, and then others influenced by different cultures and mythologies like the Darksiders series. Based from what I've seen and read from Lovecraft, I think the dark spookiness would translate well. What do others think? Would it work well?

. . . . . . . That ending kind of disturbed me. I don’t know if “fridging” is the appropriate term to use here, but iif it isn’t then we should probably coin a new kind of term. It just felt gratuitous and gross even for the boys. Otherwise, I liked the multiple POV format of the episode; but do we really have real estate to be doing standalone stylistic episodes at this point because I feel like we’ve done two of them

This week sees the release of Saros, which naturally has me thinking about my time with Returnal, which is definitely the most challenging game I've played so far. My preference is to play games on easier difficulty settings because I play games for fun and I want to get the most out of my gaming time. I almost didn't get Returnal when I saw it didn't have difficulty settings, but I went through with it because I thought it looked really cool. My first playthrough was absolutely brutal lol. The digital versus physical preference when it comes to video games is a constant debate, but I'm curious what everyone here leans towards. I went with digital a while back and have pretty much never looked back. It's just far more convenient for me on every level to have my games digital, and when I had a PS5 with a disc drive, I used it for like 2 games and nothing else, so when I got a new PS5, I went with the digital edition. I love the idea of having physical games, but in reality, it's just easier for me not to.
