Tom Bacon

So, I'm absolutely loving Season 3! What are your thoughts?

Oh, Star Wars '77 FOR SURE. It would be INCREDIBLE.

Organic works better imo, because it enables the "everyman hero" aspect of Peter rather than stressing "And he's secretly an absolute, utter scientific genius!"

I really enjoyed the first three episodes. And yet... One thing definitely jarred for me. The Jubilee plot, because she's basically become Boom-Boom (right down to having Boom Boom's boyfriend as well as being part of the same team lol). What are your thoughts on the episodes, and Jubilee basically morphing into full-on Boom Boom?

Nothing at all wrong with that - it's a great line-up!

New rumors claim Tom Brittney is the DCU's Batman - do you think he's a good choice?

Although, I admit, I did laugh so much that them hooking up meant they literally destroyed a building lol.

Yeah, I'll always go with Angel too. I can never, ever look past that assault scene. Buffy and Spike just felt like peak unhealthiness to me.

So, it seems there's hope for Halo after all! But what lessons would you recommend after the last show's cancellation?

Controversial opinion here: It depends on the writing. Imo part of the problem is that you should really write differently for a weekly drop and a binge model; for a weekly drop, you want things to chew over, whereas there should be more momentum to binge. Imo the biggest mistake studios and streamers make is assuming they can make shows the same way and choose the model later. The mode should actively shape the writing and production.

Oh, so, so many - I honestly can't say lol! But the most memorable scene, for me, is always Gandalf riding out with light shining from his staff. Beautiful, beautiful scene.

I was just in time lol; tickets went up early at our cinema, and the theater was half-filled within ten minutes lol. By the end of the afternoon, every single seat on opening night had been taken, at all showings (I checked, out of curiosity)

Yeah, I really enjoyed it! My wife less so hahahah

It would definitely be amusing if Marvel just... ripped their Kang plans and plopped them on Doom lol. That said, I can picture Doom demanding servants dress like him out of pure ego!

I'll never understand Marvel's approach at that point; launching so many new characters and then doing nothing with them for years! Shang-Chi was absolutely excellent imo and great fun, so I'd love to see more of that story.

Reluctantly... can't help agreeing.

I hate to say it, but... I'm not massively surprised at Mandalorian and Grogu. It didn't have a strong enough hook; it was a film made purely for the sake of making a film. There needs to be an actual reason for a film, a pitch, a hook.

Welp, the Christmas Special is officially cancelled. I do think there's some good news behind this - the BBC clearly believe they can put the show up for competitive tender - but man, this isn't the news I wanted lol. Looks like there's a reason we hadn't heard anything about the show's future for a while.

In honor of Disclosure Day (which I'm seeing today!), I got to wondering... what's your favorite Spielberg film, and why?

Oh, completely! Sometimes there has to be a different "rule" in fiction to real life!

Avengers: Armageddon is setting up a whole new team so I was wondering... in the comics, what's your favorite line-up?

I admit, I'm feeling rather frustrated with it all right now lol. It does feel increasingly difficult, and I wonder if we're moving into a period where studios have to move on to NEW franchises rather than build on old ones. On the one hand, I'd like that to happen because every generation deserves their own Big Thing (I think KPop Demon Hunters is one here), but on the other... yeah, I'm gutted right now with Stargate lol. After this and Buffy, it is very hard for me to be enthusiastic about a relaunch or revival.

Genuinely gutted about this. I adore SG-1, and I've even been excitedly chatting to the showrunners on Twitter over the last few months. First Buffy, and now this - gonna be very hard for me to get excited about any other revivals for a while, I think...

Yeah, I think MOTU is the end of the road for Mando and Grogu.

This looks absolutely SUPERB.
