January 6Jan 6 CB Team Filoni is pretty much what was expected, but Lynwen Brennan is something of a surprise. What do you think? Is this a good decision, or a possible misstep?
January 6Jan 6 Author CB Team My own opinion, incidentally, is that Filoni will really need to learn not to indulge his "deep lore" mindset. He needs to be making things seriously accessible.
January 6Jan 6 CB Team Like you say, Filoni was expected. I can't say I know enough about Brennan to pass judgment, but he obviously needs someone well-versed in the business side to run it alongside him (I've never understood the idea/clamor for him to get the job alone, he's a creative), and she is clearly experienced. I'm forever hopeful Star Wars will turn things around, but think anyone expecting that all the problems will be magically solved with Filoni replacing Kennedy is in for disappointment

I DO think the fact they've managed to shoot two movies without reports of massive drama is a good sign lol.

As someone who loves Andor and is just mildly interested in the deep lore stuff Filoni has been pushing, I'm actually not that hopeful about the future.

The movies in particular need to be accessible. To be fair, I think Mando & Grogu and Starfighter will be.It makes sense for Filoni to get the gig, though. He was George's Padawan after all.
January 6Jan 6 CB Team If they want Star Wars to survive, it can't just be Filoni at the top. Like everyone's saying, he's too in the weeds with this stuff and time is already proving that Star Wars is starting to be seen as a niche franchise. Maybe Starfighter can course correct to a degree for the public, but right now if it stays in the arena he likes to play in, it's doomed.
January 6Jan 6 CB Team All it really takes is one Star Wars movie to turn some of the negative perception around, and as a big fan of Filoni's work in the franchise, I think he can absolutely do that. Mando and Grogu is sort of its own thing, so I won't judge it just based on that, though it is the Star Wars project I'm most excited for. There always has to be a balance. Not everything can or needs to be Andor, and not everything needs to be Ahsoka. I enjoy both, and hope they continue to maintain multiple tones and themes. Edited January 6Jan 6 by MattAguilarCB

January 16Jan 16 All I know is I liked the Acolyte and ton of people hated it (probably for the wrong reasons) and Filoni produced that so anyone that hates the Acolyte should be hating on this news.
