New Mortal Kombat Movie 2026

Featured Replies

Is anyone else excited for the new movie or if not? Why, what are your reasons or if you’re not sure? I would love to hear your thoughts about it!!!

Being remotely watchable would be an improvement over the first one lmao

That said, Mortal Kombat has the potential to be something cool as a film franchise, so I'm rooting for it.

I haven't watched the first one since it came out, but I bet it didn't age well lol

I thought the reboot movie was fine. Don't have high expectations for the sequel at all and I imagine it'll bomb at the box office. Here's hoping it's simply decent.

I would be happy if it's watchable to those of us who played it growing up. I'm sure the general public won't like it either way, but it should be ok as long as they get it right for long-time fans.

I'll definitely watch it either way. Same with Street Fighter. I know these movies may not appeal to the general public, but will probably be decent for those of us who grew up playing these games.

I'm excited in that we're getting both it and a Street Fighter movie this year. I just want to compare and contrast the two of them and break it down that way 90s arcade style. On its own, MK just wasn't great enough to really excite me for a sequel honestly

They would probably be fun to watch one after the other just to see the differences. I'm probably more excited to see Street Fighter even though I know it's going to be crazy over-the-top. But I think that's what Street Fighter needs to be at this point.

THANK YOU! Sometimes I feel lonely in disliking this movie. The script is awful, the characters are bland, and I absolutely hate the new powers explanation

It's the definition of a movie that's best watched in a "best of" compilation on youtube rather than actually watching it 🤣

I enjoyed the first Mortal Kombat reboot, though most of its issues were tied to putting so much focus on the original character. The sequel smartly tied the film to one of the series' favorites in Cage, and with Karl Urban playing him, that has all kinds of potential. Plus my fave character Kitana is in this one, so I'm excited.
