What’s your favorite comic book saga that spans multiple books?

I’m talking about the big crossover storylines that stretch across multiple titles and really feel like major events. Two examples that come to mind are The Infinity Gauntlet and the bigger Spider-Man vs. Carnage storylines that spilled into multiple books.

What’s your favorite comic saga that went big like that, and what made it stand out for you?

Going to go with the first one that came to mind: ROTWORLD

Animal Man, Swamp Thing, and Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. One of the better NEW 52 crossover events

This looks awesome I've never heard of this! I'll have to check it out!

I really liked DC's "Future State" event. So much potential that hit in some spots but failed in others... methinks because of a lack of upper-level support. Still, it impressed me.

Possibly a controversial answer, but Civil War. Mainly because it's actually possible to chart where every single tie-in fits into the timeline of the event, and there's only something like three continuity problems if you do so!

...And yeah, I admit, I tested this theory :P

I've always wondered how many comics the entire story spans for Civil War. I know there are a ton of crossover events and tie-in stories throughout the series.

I LOVED Future State, especially the core Batman series. They did some really cool things in those books.

I have all of the single issues from the series, and every once in a while I go back and re-read them all. I think it does really well with the tie-ins, though I will say the Wolverine series is almost mandatory reading if you want to get the whole story.

LOVE that Wolverine arc.

My favorite of the tie-ins, oddly enough, comes after Civil War when Nova arrives on Earth and... basically calls out how utterly insular and self-absorbed the whole fight was lol.

Oh, LOTS. There's even some that aren't officially labeled as Civil War, too, hahahah. New X-Men, for example, has some issues that coincide with the era (and still work). I'll try and find my old spreadsheet hahahah

The fact that you have a spreadsheet is amazing

Sounds like I have some reading to do : ) I have Marvel Unlimited, so I can probably find most of them on there.

I would have to go with Civil War as well. There are so many crossover connections I’m still finding them today as I read other Marvel titles.

Nice! I know there are quite a few books I haven't read in that series so I'm looking them up now.

Yeah the original Infinity Gauntlet was such a great story and the lead up to it in the Surfer books at the time when Starlin took over and first brought Thanos and Warlock back were great.

I didn't necessarily love the Maximum Carnage story but the artists marvel had on the three spiderman books at the time were amazing - Tom Lyle, Sal Buscema and Mark Bagley with an issue from Ron Lim and Alex Saviuk mixed in. Like I felt like the story didn't need to be that long but the art was so good I didn't care.

Not as long and sprawling but one of the first major crossovers I can remember was Thanos's first death - going from Avengers annual and then ending in Marvel Two in One Annual was one of the first big crossovers I can remember Marvel doing and as a kid at the time it felt Epic ha ha
