The return of Savage (and Grey?) Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

We're seemingly getting Savage Hulk again in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and with it some version of Grey Hulk (with the latest look at him revealed here). Getting "the other guy" back is long overdue, and I'm excited to see Hulk smashing again, and intrigued by what causes him to turn grey. What are your thoughts?

Absolutely delighted. A real Hulk is always better than a sanitised one, and we have had precious little actual rage monster to enjoy. If there really is a villain who messes with people's brains, we could be getting a beefed up version of the Scarlet Witch/Age of Ultron vision scene (as much as I don't want repetition).

I think that would make a great Hulk movie with most, if not all the different color and powered Hulks.

We need more Hulks! I'm all for it. I've missed the Savage Hulk version of the character. If they're bringing Grey Hulk into the mix too, even better. The MCU has barely scratched the surface of Hulk's different personalities.

It's crazy to me that we've not had an actual on-screen Hulk out transformation since The Avengers, so that alone I'm looking forward to (hopefully, presumably) changing, but I agree that messing with his mind could work well here

I really wish this is the beginning of MCU dealing with all the Hulks. Immortal Hulk is amazing for many reasons, but the way it streamlined personalities and their conflicting systems is PERFECT.

This sounds really interesting, would be good if the MCU could pull it off (but could also easily imagine it going wrong)

The Spidey-Hulk dynamic has always been tremendous fun, SO looking forward to this.

I remember one comic where he got the Hulk to relax and turn back into Banner... with a knock knock joke.

So, in comics, the Hulk has always been an expression of Bruce's trauma because his father was an abusive piece of shit... I have no idea why the MCU has avoided Bruce's past at all costs, from the very first movie. Ang Lee's Hulk is flawed in many ways (many being a keyword). However, it's still the only Hulk movie that even tried to understand this relationship that should be central to the character.

Immortal Hulk kind of cemented how each Hulk is a byproduct of a different strategy Banner uses to protect himself. Savage is his childish anger, while Grey is a slick survivor molded after mobster movies.

Yeah, this sounds awesome! Although also the kind of thing that needs the right level of care and attention - I don't think it's the reason Marvel hasn't done it, but the inability to make a Hulk solo movie might have hurt it if they had attempted something like it.

I agree with you... At the same time, what else can they do at this point? Keep using the Hulk as support for other heroes' stories? If the rights issue is not solved, they still can make a TV show for the Hulk. Heck, I would even take an animated movie if that would mean actually using the character.

lol, yeah I can't argue with any of that!
