  1. Am I eligible to win? If so, I'm going with:
  2. Oh man, Kevin Bacon would be a GREAT Dexter villain. Would love to see that.
  3. Hi Mimi, appreciate the feedback. We do not use AI to write articles - so rest assured there!
  4. Oh man, I dug the Superman Blu-ray. Snagged a collector's edition and that steelcase and sleeve was slick. It's not the most eye-catching release but still stood out for me some. How was the Back to the Future 4K release? Does it look good?
  5. Oh man, that's so true. So much so that we've gotten at least 2 or 3 post-death "Surprise Motherfucker" cameos. He was so good.
  6. Ha! So true. A total full-circle moment in all the worst ways.
  7. When I first saw there was another one coming, I was like: “Oh, cool!” Then I realized I hadn’t watched any but the first two. So, probably not? Was about to ask if Tara Reid is going to be in it and went down a rabbit hole to discover that the last Sharknado had time-travel and retconned April’s death? I knew this series was crazy but… I did not have Sharknado time travel on my bingo card.
  8. You’re in for a treat. Kofi, Matt, and Janelle are great together. I’m biased but it’s also true!
  9. Fallout is a good call-out. I think that one will build audience as it goes. Wednesday is probably my pick - just because it breaks into the pop culture zeitgeist in a variety of ways (memes, viral BTS videos) along with just being a good show It’s also hard to say because I also don’t think Stranger Things is as “big” of a cultural touchstone as it was the first couple seasons. Obviously, it’s still going to put up big numbers - but less clear is if people will keep talking about it for more than a couple days after each block airs. In that sense, Stranger Things couldn’t even replicate the impact of early days Stranger Things. Stranger Things also capitalized on the moment 80s/Spielberg nostalgia peaked. I say that because it may be that the days of mega-audience streaming releases has wound down. Stranger Things, Orange is the New Black, Tiger King, etc debuted in very specific phases of the streaming evolution. With so many streamers and shows, could be harder to really break through.
  10. If you ask my 4 year-old: Zootopia 2. If you ask me: Avatar: Fire & Ash. I was not really excited for The Way of Water and was surprised by how much it pulled me back into that world. So, I’ve now got high expectations for Fire & Ash.
  11. Oh wow, coincidence. I was just reading about this series somewhere else recently. Definitely going to have to check it out now.
  12. Ps2

eBay is probably the best option - or retro game retailers. If you have a local retro game retailer, you’ll likely get the best price GameStop has them as well for about $130.
  13. Saw a similar post today that made me think, what was the worst in-show explanation for a character exit (after the actor left the series)? Anything is probably better than Shameless straight up not even mentioning Fiona in the finale. Alex Karev in Grey’s Anatomy might be one of the worst. It’s not THE worst but the fact the character just exists in faceless letters is so weird - especially for a 15 season run of that character. Alex Kamal in The Expanse is probably one of the best.
  14. A little late posting this week but... we've run all the entries into the giveaway and JoanPault is our week 4 winner! In addition to the $40 gift card, we'll also be profiling each of our winners - so that we can all get to know eachother a bit better, share recommendations, etc! If you'd like to participate in this week's giveaway, you can review the rules here. Our next winner will be announced next Tuesday! Without further ado, here's all about JoanPault! What first got you into geek culture? Ever since I was a kid, I grew up watching and reading comics. That was a huge part of my childhood and definitely shaped my love for geek culture as I got older. If you had to pick ONE franchise to rep forever: I’d actually have to pick two, Pokémon and Marvel. Pokémon has been with me since childhood and keeps evolving in amazing ways, and Marvel has some of the best characters and stories ever created. Both have a huge place in my heart. What you are totally into right now: I’m really into Spider-Man ’94, the new comic run. I love the art style and the nostalgic vibe. Also keeping up with the latest Pokémon stuff, of course! Something you love that doesn’t get enough hype: Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s iconic, it’s campy, it’s emotional, people who love supernatural shows today don’t realize how much Buffy walked so others could run! A character who would 100% be your friend in real life: Peter Parker, loyal, funny, awkward in the best way, and always trying to do the right thing. I’d totally vibe with him. Your most unforgettable geek moment: Definitely attending Comic Con. The energy, the cosplayers, the exclusive merch, and getting to meet other fans who love the same things, it was an experience I’ll never forget.
  15. Was having a convo with a friend this AM about Disney's Goosebumps show - and just can't understand why they're overcomplicating a series with so many great stories to tell in a monster-of-the-week format by doing these weird over-arching stories. Have they not watched the original Goosebumps series or Are You Afraid of the Dark?
  16. Well, if you post a bunch in the forum here you could one one of our weekly giveaways of a visa giftcard! I’ve been enjoying my Switch 2, especially DK Bananza! So you’re on the right track.
  17. Great question: I guess it depends on what I'd be hoping to accomplish (hello Sorcerer Supreme) but I'd lean toward Peter Parker - mostly because he's humble and really down to earth person (in spite of his superheroing); though, I'd probably need to talk to mid-30's Spider-Man, not one that was just starting out, given that Parker's work-life-superhero balance is very messy in the early days.
  18. I have a ton of memories of DK1 - and trying to 100% that thing. DK2 is objectively better but I probably put 1/2 as many hours in it. LOL
  19. I didn’t really answer the question: Panzer Dragoon II was one of my favorites - but not underrated. I never did unlock the final dragon form for it though. Still haunts me! Primal Rage looked great on it. That was one of the best ports of that game. At the time, I was in middle school - so a lot of what I played was whatever GamePro and IGN was barking about. Wish I’d played more of the great non-US library for that system.
  20. Man, I have a VERY specific memory of coming home from school and my launch day preorder Saturn, arcade stick, and Daytona was waiting for me - but I had to go to a middle school activity and was super pissed about having to wait. It was a genuinely great console though. And one of the only consoles from that era that wasn’t hideous.
  21. I was so skeptical of this series when it was first announced and Pratt was attached - but they've really hit it out of the park. The animation is beautiful and elevates it beyond the game. And they've done a great job of balancing fan nostalgia with broader appeal. Definitely excited for this one.
  22. I agree, Spider-Man '94 has been really fun - especially for those of us who loved that era (in games, comics, and the show). Mysterio would be a great villain for this run. There are more "popular" characters that I'm sure will get named but I feel like a lot of them have been over-saturated in pop culture. Would love for '94 to highlight some of Spidey's classic (and weirder) antagonists.
  23. Carving out time to check it out this weekend. It’s always a battle in the evening after we get the kid down to keep my wife awake long enough to watch a new show! lol.
  24. Oh man, the one of the ship is so cool. Though, my wife would kill me if I started up a new collectible lane. lol. I did get the Superman/popcorn machine one this summer though.
  25. The licensing deals on some of these older movies is pretty wild. It’s bad enough that more recent movies jump providers all the time. but it is pretty wild how many vintage movies have basically just become nearly impossible to find.
