  1. I thought D23 was fine this year. Not a lot of surprises - but it was a good showing (especially for fans) of what’s coming. Was kind of weird they just showed the doom footage from SDCC - not something entirely new. X-Men cast seems solid. Definitely want to check out that new Avengers ride in 2 years!
  2. With the sudden news that Hayden Panettiere died over the weekend it got me thinking about how much I loved the first 1.5 seasons of Heroes - and how great Hayden was in that role. The home video footage of her jumping off a silo or the scene where she wakes up during her own autopsy were so fun (and horrifying) at the time. You have a different pick? I never watched Nashville but she was also great as Kirby in Scream 4 (& 6). And I never knew she played Princess Dot in A Bug’s Life.
  3. Should they have? He’s American in the comics. Abbott is such an interesting choice. The range in his filmography is wild. Have you seen Wolfman?
  4. I’d agree. I also really liked 3. It felt like such a step up in graphics and scope. But I also really appreciate what they’ve done with the last two. Hard to point to too many entries in that series that aren’t great.
  5. I’d almost for sure buy one. I was a Genesis (and Sega CD and 32X) guy growing up and loved my Saturn console. I’d love to see another console maker that isn’t Nintendo or Steam take a real run at Sony and Microsoft - if for no other reason than it’d drive costs down (potentially).
  6. I loved GTA3 at the time. I’d never seen anything like it. I was in college, so just causing as much mayhem as possible or going and picking up an escort for a car ride were perfect things to do while joking around with friends and avoiding studying. Vice City took it to a new level (and that soundtrack was so good) but I spent less time on it ultimately
  7. I actually agree with this! It felt very Titanfall pilot-ish. and I was excited at the time for a Call of Duty gunplay as well as blockbuster campaign but with different mechanics. I’m sure others disagree but I second this one!
  8. We have some big Absolute fans here. So let’s go! What’s your favorite book so far in the series?

I still think advertising behind a paywall is weird - even as someone who has Netflix. I guess they don’t need the press but still seems unnecessarily complicated.
  10. I think it depends on what we’re getting. After the lack of true PS5 exclusives (since so many games had a PS4 version) I might be reluctant to jump in immediately. I imagine we’ll be in the $700-$1,000 depending on what it ultimately is (and the state of Memory cost).
  11. It almost feels like this is where it has to head in a post-console future. Right now they’re going back the other way with more exclusives. But I agree this is a great way to reward great game making and provide a consumer forward model.
  12. PS1-PS3 are still my favorite Sony generations. I love some of the newer games but grinding Tony Hawk 2 and competing with friends for a high score in SSX: Tricky are among my favorite gaming memories.

I'd like the option preserved for people who want physical discs - even if I tend to lean digital now. There are a lot of good arguments for why availability of physical discs is important.
  14. Wow. I was 100% expecting to see this on eBay or somewhere straightforward but I get why you're asking. Legitimately no listings or shopping pages. I'll let one of the other members weigh-in but good luck on the quest!
  15. It's definitely suffering a bit from the "look how cool it is to see X fight Y or A team-up with B". These are all cool things but it did feel more like watching a Mortal Kombat game at times - loosely stitched together cool ideas.

I enjoyed the old ones but this isn't a revival I'm exactly burning to see. It's hard for me to imagine fans of the franchise being all that enthusiastic either. My dad loved the original ones, but I don't see him turning up for a revival.

    99 days and counting!
  18. That's nice! Best of luck!
  19. Eyes up guardian. (I too am a huge Destiny 2 player, double-sigh)

  21. I'm going to be super unique and say Venom. But I got into comics right when he was introduced and all the merch started coming out for him (ToyBiz figure, etc). So it was a fun time to be discovering that character.
  22. Yeah, there's a 95% chance this was Sectaurs: Warriors of Symbion. Coleco action-figure line launched in 1985 Insect-evolved warriors were telepathically bonded to intelligent insect companions - including larger insects they could ride. Marvel published an eight-issue comic series from 1985–86 and there was also an animated miniseries. Coincidentally, they actually re-released some of those figures a couple years ago. I would see them all the time in the toy section at Walmart.
