  1. It's just wild to me that after having one of its best years at the box office in a long time, Warner Bros. is sold
  2. I'm talking myself into Astrid Arkham as I write this article
  3. My pick would be The Odyssey
  4. I never get anything at the theater. I usually eat dinner right before going and then I'm not really hungry
  5. The Guardians of the Galaxy game Eidos Montreal made was a lot of fun. A shame that's probably never getting a sequel.
  6. Endgame on opening night was just an unprecedented event. Whole theater was locked in. More personal pick for me would be Force Awakens because that movie made me feel like a kid again
  7. The only one I can think of is Gargoyles. I loved that when I was a kid. Had a bunch of toys for it. I grew up in New York, so it was cool the characters had names like Bronx and Brooklyn.
  8. I honestly think the Multiverse Saga is beyond saving. The biggest fail post-Endgame was not choosing a core group of characters to follow. They just gave everyone a movie or a TV show and hoped it worked. The Infinity Saga was anchored by the Original Six Avengers. All of those characters made multiple appearances before we got to Infinity War. Now, it's like who cares. I think Shang-Chi is cool, but whatever "moment" he has in Doomsday is going to fall flat. Phase 4 should have been about assembling the new Avengers, and then you give those characters follow-up movies in subsequent phases. The roster of character is just a jumble now. There's a reason why they're soft resetting this thing after Secret Wars. Hopefully then a more streamlined approach works well.
  9. If Spider-Man was a secret Santa, what would Peter Parker really be able to afford?
  10. The ones on my shelf are Stand By Me, Misery, and The Shawshank Redemption. I'll also pick up Edgar Wright's Running Man when that comes out on Blu-ray. I know that wasn't the greatest movie, but I still had fun with it. The Long Walk was very compelling, I just don't know if I can bring myself to watch that again. It's so brutal.
  11. You say this like it's a bad thing
  12. It had to have been when I was in second or third grade ... that time in the mid-to-late '90s when Pokemon was huge ... I wanted a Game Boy Color and a Pokemon game for Christmas. I opened all my presents and there was no Game Boy. Got down to the last gift and it was a shirt box, so I was expecting clothes or something. And then boom - surprise Game Boy with Pokemon Yellow. I was so happy.
  13. It's December, which means in a few weeks I'll be getting ready for my annual viewing of Die Hard on Christmas Eve. Been my tradition for years. What are some movies you rewatch every holiday season?
  14. This wouldn't be a proper adaptation, but my dream production would be a riff on Misery about a Star Wars "fan" demanding Rian Johnson rewrite The Last Jedi. I am very pro-Last Jedi. My favorite of the Disney Star Wars. I think this would just be a fun idea
  15. I'd also love a proper Spyro the Dragon 4. I remember playing Enter the Dragonfly on PS2 when I was a kid and that game sucked lol. Basically what Crash Bandicoot 4 was but for Spyro. The classic formula with a modern spin.
  16. As one of those gamers whose first God of War was the 2018 game, I'd rather the TV show cover the Greek saga so I could experience that story. Never played the Greek games. Wish they'd get a remake.
  17. Very left field answer here, but Muppets from Space. I saw that in theaters when I was a kid and I legit thought Gonzo was going to leave the Muppets at the end and I started sobbing
  18. The only game I'd buy at any cost no matter what would be Insomniac's Spider-Man 3. That's my favorite game series. I got back into gaming during COVID, and Spider-Man 2018 was one of the first games I played. I loved it and I'm as invested in that franchise's story as any of the movies.
  19. I'd green light Duel of the Fates, the original version of Star Wars Episode 9. From what I've read about that, it sounded like it would have been more of a proper Last Jedi sequel than what we got. I'd also give Mattson Tomlin and Sam Raimi whatever they wanted to make their Spider-Man 4
  20. In terms of new releases, my pick would be either Ghost of Yotei or Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (I only game on PS5, so Indy was a new release for me this year). I really enjoyed both and am already looking forward to second playthroughs at some point. I'm a big fan of the Indy movies, so that game was a ton of fun. Scratched the Uncharted itch while still doing its own thing. And with Yotei it was a blast exploring the open world (one side quest in particular made me very happy). Also want to shout out Doom: The Dark Ages. Always fun to just run around and shoot monsters in the face.
  21. I would have preferred weekly releases. I've only watched the first two episodes so far. There's other stuff to do, other stuff to watch. It'd just be easier to fit it in if it was just one episode per week. I fell behind on Pluribus because I'm trying to prioritize Stranger Things when I can.
  22. Ape Escape reboot/remake from Team Asobi please. The Ape Escape level in Astro Bot was awesome. I want just a full game of that.
  23. For me, the nerdiest thing is probably the Superman Blu-ray. Looking forward to rewatching that. That might be what I watch on Christmas night. My tradition is to rewatch my favorite summer movie on Christmas after I get the Blu-ray. Also hoping for some PlayStation gift cards. Next year is stacked for new games.
  24. This is my answer as well. Nobody tell J. Jonah Jameson he had to beat an old lady with a stick to get it.
  25. The only movie I really associate with Thanksgiving is Planes, Trains, and Automobiles because the holiday itself is so integral to the plot. I think a movie needs to be set during Thanksgiving time for a majority of its run time to be considered a Thanksgiving movie. But like Ben, I don't rewatch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles every year at Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, Die Hard on Christmas Eve is an annual tradition.
