  1. I just wrote about One Battle After Another breaking a nominations record at the Actors Awards. I love seeing films like One Battle After Another, Sinners, and Marty Supreme stack up these nominations, but awards season also has me thinking about the overlooked movies that could have been deserving. I wish Roofman had gotten more recognition. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed that one. Thought Tatum was great and it was just really well done. I guess Paramount didn't put much of a campaign together after it flamed out at the box office, but people should watch it on streaming. Reminded me of an old school star vehicle that would have been massive in the '90s.
  2. I have watched Seinfeld all the way through multiple times.
  3. I finished my playthrough of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance last night. It was fun! Some of the platforming challenges were tough, but I really enjoyed the combat system. The rest of my January is going to be replaying old favorites. I want to do Resident Evil 2 to get ready for Requiem.
  4. I think it's Harvey. Makes sense to eventually include that character in this franchise given its focus on organized crime.
  5. There are all kinds of cancelled video games out there. If you had the power to revive one of them, which one would you pick? Mine would be this version of Crash Bandicoot 5 that would have been a Spyro crossover. 10 year old me was devastated when I saw this video detailing the project. I would have loved this game. Crash 4 can be really challenging at times, but it's honestly one of my favorite gaming experiences of the decade.
  6. I'm most excited for Starfighter because of Ryan Gosling and Amy Adams. Fingers crossed the script is something special if Levy was able to get those two onboard.
  7. I'm not sure how I feel about Hunt for Gollum in general lol. LOTR is one of my favorite film series of all time. I grew up with the original trilogy. But I just can't get excited for this. Maybe that'll change once we see some footage - I'm sure I'll fall for some nostalgic bits. But after the Hobbit trilogy I'm ready to just leave this franchise as is.
  8. LOTR and the Star Wars prequels would have to be up there because I feel like I always had one of those DVDs on when I was a kid. I watched the Raimi Spider-Man movies a bunch too. I've rewatched Dark Knight and Inception plenty of times as well. I wish I started logging stuff on Letterboxd when I joined in 2017 (I only started logging in 2024) because I would love to know what my most rewatched movie is of the last eight years.
  9. I agree with this. Star Wars is my favorite franchise and I'm well-versed in the "deep lore" stuff, but not everyone is like that. The movies in particular need to be accessible. To be fair, I think Mando & Grogu and Starfighter will be. It makes sense for Filoni to get the gig, though. He was George's Padawan after all.
  10. I wish this was the first teaser that was released. I would have liked to have seen this one on a big screen ahead of Avatar instead of Chris Evans looking at a baby. I also think Cyclops' reaction has something to do with Jean's death. Doom probably invades the X-Men's universe and kills a bunch of them.
  11. Season 3 because Scoops Troop. I love everything about the Steve and Robin friendship. I still have Steve in his Scoops Ahoy hat as my Netflix profile picture.
  12. I'm going to play Shadow of the Tomb Raider before Legacy of Atlantis comes out. I've played and enjoyed the first two Survivor Trilogy games but never got around to Shadow (even though I bought it on sale three years ago). I think it's because I always had this weird mental block with the Tomb Raider trilogy where I can't help but compare it to Uncharted. Uncharted is one of my favorite series ever, so whenever I'd play Tomb Raider, part of me would go, "I'd rather be playing Uncharted." Time to get past that mental block.
  13. Mine would be to remain calm when gaming and not get too frustrated if I die a couple times in a row lol. I've never been one to break controllers, but I do have a tendency to yell when things don't go my way, and that doesn't help with anything. Not saying I'm going to just be a robot and not have any emotional reaction at all, just try to be more even keeled. Another gaming one is something I started midway through last year and now going to continue it for a full year. I've set a cap of no more than two gaming sessions per day. A session can be as long as I want, but no more than two. That way, I make sure I don't fall behind on other personal interests.
  14. Uncut Gems was the first movie I saw after The Rise of Skywalker. When I tell you that was the shot of cinematic adrenaline I desperately needed.
  15. Sinners was my favorite of 2025. Just rewatched it the other night and it's so good. Looking forward to all those Oscar noms. Most anticipated of 2026 would be either Resident Evil (I also loved Weapons) or Clayface.
  16. I liked and finished most of the games I played last year as well. The one I didn't was Death Stranding. I've tried to get into that a few times and it just never stuck. I wanted to give it another shot when the sequel was coming out, and that game just isn't for me. I just can't get into the gameplay.
  17. Happy New Year, ComicBook community! Now that we're in 2026, what's one piece of movie news you're hoping to see over the next 12 months? For me, it would have to be some kind of update on the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes sequel. I'm a big fan of the reboot series and want to see what comes next.
  18. PS2 was the console of my youth, but my answer might honestly be PS4. That thing got me through the pandemic and helped me rediscover my love of gaming. I didn't have a console for years until March 2020. I bought a PS4 that first weekend of COVID and never looked back. Gaming is one of my favorite hobbies again. I get some time in on my PS5 almost every day.
  19. It 100% is the latest addition to the list of films woefully misunderstood by college frat bros lol. But yeah, movie is awesome. Chalamet was great. One of my favorites of the year. Can't wait to watch it again. Hope it gets a bunch of Oscar noms.
  20. In a show featuring monsters, interdimensional travel, and kids with psychic powers, the most unrealistic thing is a group of college-aged friends planning to meet each other once a month no matter what lol. I also voted B. The one thing I need to think on more is the Eleven stuff at the end. Part of me really wishes they didn't do they whole "here's how she could be alive" thing. Felt like the Duffers trying to have their cake and eat it too. Like they wanted to do a heroic self-sacrifice but didn't actually want to go through with it. I had the same problem with the Harry Potter ending funnily enough. I saw a Reddit fan theory that Mike just made all that up as a way to process his trauma and move on. I think I like that idea better. I don't think it's a coincidence he dreamed up a happy ending for Elle after Hopper's pep talk before graduation. He was sitting there going, "Well... maybe she could still be alive" and concocted a story so he could turn the page.
  21. I think spinoffs will be a hard sell for me because the biggest draw for me has always been the characters. I just enjoyed watching the characters interact with each other most of all. So it'll depend on if the cast in the spinoff is up to the task.
  22. I got the Blu-rays I wanted (including Superman, Sinners, and Weapons) plus PlayStation gift cards. So I was happy
  23. Not gonna lie, I teared up a couple times watching the episodes back to back to back last night. The Dustin and Steve stuff really got to me. Like so many, I loved "Dad Steve" in Season 2 and the Dustin/Steve/Robin dynamic was my favorite part of Season 3 (Robin's confession to Steve remains my favorite scene in the series). It made me sad seeing Dustin and Steve fight like that and I'm happy they made up. Dustin telling Steve he can't lose a friend again after Eddie is when I almost lost it. As for character deaths, I'm of two minds. I've long felt the show could kill someone off (I honestly though we were headed there with Jonathan and Nancy) but it would make me very upset if any of the main group dies in the finale. I don't think Eleven will die. I think they're setting it up to make you think she's going to sacrifice herself but we'll get the happy ending. I've never rewatched a season of Stranger Things, but Season 5 kinda makes me want to go back and start a full series rewatch at some point.
  24. I would like to see PlayStation reveal Cory Barlog's new game. I think he's been working on something for a while but they've been keeping it under wraps. Hope there's some kind of announcement at a State of Play.
  25. I would have liked it if it was just one teaser modeled after that Dark Knight trailer that didn't show any footage. The one that just had Ledger's voice over the Batman logo. Have Downey recite some evil Doom monologue over the Avengers logo. That would be more exciting to me.
