the very first comic book I ever read was a marvel comic book and I’m currently not reading a comic book but I do want to get back into reading comic books

I think the first comic book I ever read was the X-Men: Evolution tie-in that Marvel published ahead of that cartoon making its premiere. Right now though, my favorites are Absolute Batman and The Power Fantasy, both have just enough issues that there's not too much to catch up on!

Mine was one of my dad's Action Comics from the late 40s/early 50s. I don't remember the exact issue, but I remember it being cool and life-changing.

Current reads are numerous, but I'm very into Free Planet, Matt Fraction's Batman, and any of the Absolute books from DC.

I don't really remember, but it was Marvel, and I am pretty sure it was a Spider-Man or Fantastic Four comic book. My earliest memories when looking at covers were some Amazing Spider-Man issues around the 190s (maybe, the intro of Black Cat?) and the Fantastic Four issue where Reed saved Galactus's life, but I am pretty sure I read some before those and just wasn't as into it as I got to be over the years.

For DC, it was probably something weird like Legion of Super-Heroes or something like that, cause I didn't like most of the "goofy" storytelling of DC when I was a kid. I think the first DC comics I REALLY loved were the New Teen Titans by Marv Wolfman.

I can't nail down which comic was the very first one I read, but I know it was either Superman, Adventures of Superman, or Amazing Spider-Man in the early '90s. Those '90s runs have informed so much of what I love about those characters but also comics in general, so they've had a pretty big impact for me.

Right now the series I'm loving most are DC's Absolute Books (with Wonder Woman and Superman at the top), but also loving Green Lantern, Power Rangers Prime, Transformers, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Something is Killing the Children.

The first comic I ever read was Sonic the Comic from the UK. I haven't read any comics for a little while, but the next one I'd like to read is Detective Comics: Gotham Nocturne, but I'm waiting for an omnibus rather than buying the trade volumes, hopefully we get it some time in the next year or so!

I'm pretty sure that my first comic was first issue of Tim Drake's Robin #2 from his first ever volume. My brother found that issue in a random thrift store and bought it for me. I'd always loved Robin, and this was one of the things that started me on the journey to absolutely obsessing over comics.

I'm reading way too many series to list right now, but some of my top highlights are DC's Absolute Books (Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman are definitely my tops), Batgirl, Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men, Nightwing, and I'm working through a complete reading of Superman's Golden Age stuff.

My first comic was an Iron Man comic, (I don’t recall the number, but it was late 1980s), that had Spider-Man in it. My main current favorite comics are the Energon Universe titles. I was always a fan of the Transformers, and their recent Image relaunch, got me back into comics after a, unfortunate, seven year plus hiatus away from comics.

So nice to see Batgirl in the mix! That book is fantastic and doesn't get enough spotlight

The first comic I bought with my own money (first job) was Fantastic Four #72 in 1968 with the first appearance of the Silver Surfer. It was on the new release shelf and I saw the cover and had to have it. I couldn't wait to see what happened next and from that moment on I was hooked. To this day I've always followed Marvels !st family through the never ending adventures through the Marvel universe ('s). Thanks for the question and this great memory.

I was on a trip with family and probably around 8 or 9. I bought a spiderman soft cover book that had reprinted some issues. I then was hooked and saw at another place a 3 pack of Fantastic Four books 193-195 which I still have.

Within a year I started going to LCS and buying different comics and my collection began.
