What Is Your 2025 Game of the Year?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone. I figured with the end of the year closing in and our recent GOTY post, I wanted to check in and see what everyone else's Game of the Year was.

My top five games for 2025 are:

  1. Ghost of Yotei

  2. Lies of P: Overture

  3. Metal Eden

  4. Silent Hill f

  5. Lumines Arise

I enjoyed a lot of games this year but, weirdly, sunk the most time in Destiny: Renegades. I was really burnt out on Destiny but the Star Wars inspo, lightsaber, and a fun dungeon really pulled me back in.

Not GotY worthy but maybe most improved? LOL.

Ghost of Yotei probably lands as my GotY though - with Arc Raiders as a close runner up.

I spent a lot of my video game time this year finishing games from the previous year and playing Marvel Rivals, but a few others stood out as well. I've already put over 80 hours into AC Shadows and I'm still nowhere near finished, and Sunderfolk is a gem that didn't get enough attention. Also Marvel Rivals continues to be my go-to game when I have a few minutes, and many of the changes they made this year made the game better and more robust.

  1. Marvel Rivals

  2. Assassin's Creed Shadows

  3. Sunderfolk

  4. WWE 2K25

  5. Borderlands 4

I'll second the Marvel Rivals love. What a great surprise that was this year.

Shoutout DOOM: The Dark Ages. Favorite game I played this year for sure.

id has spent the last few months patching and tweaking it to make it "better," too, so maybe you'll like it even more now. Regardless, I hope the DLC rules.

I literally just redownloaded it last night in preparation for Deadpool (and hearing my cousin rave about it on Christmas), so I am excited to see how it has changed since launch, a time when I didn't love it.

I cannot wait to play Elsa Bloodstone. Super curious to see which class she will be.

I've had an interesting gaming year where I started a ton of games, but fully finished very few of them. My surprise breakout hit was Umamusume: Pretty Derby, which I am still playing daily after several months. Top 5 are probably:

  1. Hades 2

  2. Oblivion Remastered

  3. Umamusume: Pretty Derby

  4. Cinnabunny

  5. Tiny Bookshop

I also sunk a ton of time into Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. The game was a mess, but I felt compelled to finish the story.

Tiny Bookshop has been on my wishlist! Hoping to get to it soon
