Thor’s Doomsday Teaser Trailer: What Did You Think?

Featured Replies

The latest Doomsday teaser trailer is officially online:

What did you think? Are you hyped for Doomsday?

I’m excited to see Thor and Cap back but after Multiverse of Madness (and even RDJ being cast as Doom), I’m worried this movie has too much going on to actually be a good story on its own merits.

Would love to be wrong and I’m sure it’ll be fun - but I’m not sure it’s what the MCU actually needs to get back on track.

I think there's a very good chance this will be the movie everyone chooses to be cynical about, and then goes to see anyway. Yes, nostalgia is low hanging fruit, but if you don't want to see more of Chris Evans' Steve Rogers, and you don't want to see RDJ's Doom, and you don't want to see how they'll fit so much story into a 3 hour run time AND set up Secret Wars, you all must be an entirely different species to me. I would watch Iron Man ride Hulk into battle, with cameos from every character in the MCU's history dead or alive with a grin on my face. And I loved Thunderbolts* - it's possible to be forward-looking and celebrate the past.

This one is so much better than the Steve Rogers one that I'm wondering why they lead with that one (beyond just getting the confirmation out the door that Evans is back).

I think the Russos know how to handle Thor. Even considering the messy story in Endgame, he's never better than he is in Infinity War, blending the comedy with the serious tone. If they can strike that balance with him again, the sky is the limit (for his character, at least).

This one should have been the first trailer. The Steve Rogers one just feels so weird and disconnected at this point, since we were told his story was wrapped up. Feels like they just released it for what they thought would be hype and shock value.

It’s a nice course correction for Thor after the first 90% of Love and Thunder
