What is up with the weird trailer releases?

So the Spider-Man trailer is being broken up into pieces and distributed in that weird way. There was the weird way Doomsday stuff was rolled out. We're getting Dune 3 on TikTok. What is going on with all that? I fully understand that the classic put a trailer on TV thing is less effective because we all cut the cord and live on devices now, but this -- specifically the chopping things up like a low budget scavenger hunt seems weird and honestly, doesn't make me excited about the movie.

Am I alone in this? Have I just gotten That Old?

See the Dune: Part Three trailer just as Denis Villeneuve intended ... while you're scrolling through TikTok.

I'm with Allison. I don't see what's wrong with just releasing the full trailer on YouTube. Is there market research that shows Gen Z is gonna be more excited about a trailer if they see it in 2 second chunks on MrAwesomeGamerGuy's Instagram reels first? That's sad if true.

Maybe I am old.

It's true, we're all officially Too Old For This Shit.

The whole thing is about generating buzz and keeping young eyes glued to their phones, the strategy doesn't make sense to us because it's not for us.

Yep, a trailer release entirely designed for people with no attention span
