Disney's shocking layoffs seem to indicate they're going to stop engaging with physical releases. Absolutely gutting. Yes, I know they have a streaming service, but that'll never replace physical imo.

Yeah, this is bad. I still collect Blu-rays. I've gone digital for gaming and music, but I'll keep getting physical media for movies as long as they make it. I love the sight of all of my movies up on a shelf together.

I'll always choose physical over streaming for anything that I really love. the streaming landscape is just too unstable to rely on titles consistently being available, and it's admittedly just nice to have a physical copy on hand.

Don't they have a deal with Sony to release their movies?

And streaming is unreliable! They remove things all the time and that's even before you get to the idea that you need decent internet to be able to access them.

There is but one real option left 🏴‍☠️

Yeah, and that was last year I think, so they've been very much working towards this.

It absolutely sucks, and I hope they all land on their feet.
