Wonder Man Cancelled

Featured Replies

The show was a great mix of funny and dramatic. Really fun.

It’s getting old. Every time Disney does this it chips away at our belief in their belief in Marvel.

I was surprised that they cancelled it since they literally just announced it, but if I'm honest, it's not something we actually need. The series was amazing, but it also exists perfectly as a one-off, so I'm not as frustrated by it as others are.

100% Business decisions based on a guess about ROI without ANY regard for the audience, the artistic work or the industry community in LA that was being supported by a very good show. Also, it might seem antithetical but Cretton's massive box office success probably means Disney wants to sequester him for that world. They underestimate the draw his name would have if they simply marketed WM S2 with "From the Director of Spider-Man: Brand New Day." I'm in the film & TV industry (and write comic books) and what is VERY odd and rare is renewing a show and then reversing to cancel. Even Cretton is puzzled. Terrible optics on the heels of not moving forward with Blade. It sure seems like Disney is intent on leaving what studies now say is an estimated $10B of business on the table that movies like Black Panther and Sinners proved there's an audience for. A certain kind of myopia.
