I'm interested in any series (or creator) that manages to steer clear of overt political messaging. I've started reading comics again since the early 2000s and have had some difficulty finding stories that neither devolve into propaganda-like political messaging nor falls for typical grandstanding character and storyline tropes from about 2013 on. ( E.g. "Oh, you see, the person who's all about family values and anti-communism is dundun dun a bad person himself!") I know, I know: "Everyone is biased and brings that subjective truth to their work yadda yadda." I have a hard time believing all writers are incapable of objective truths that are not tainted by heavy-handed…

There have been many consoles over the years, and I imagine everyone has a few favorites. If you had to highlight just one console though, which would be your all-time favorite? My favorite all-time console is still the SEGA Dreamcast, and somewhere there's an alternate universe where SEGA kept making consoles and we got the Dreamcast 2 and Dreamcast 3. Other systems were more powerful, but I still look back at my Dreamcast era and wish I still had mine. Games like Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Grandia II, Skies of Arcadia, Jet Grind Radio, Phantasy Star Online, Power Stone, SoulCalibur, Shenmue, and Marvel vs. Capcom all delivered unforgettable moments, and the system h…

I and my 3 sons loved the TV show, Bones. I still continue to watch every re-run I can find. It is my favorite TV show of all time. Sherlock Holmes, with Lucy Lu would be my second choice. Obviously, I love a good mystery, with a bit of humor. Even when I was young I used to watch The Thin Man series. I think it was Myrna Loy and Peter Lawford or Howard Duff (I can't be sure because it was decades ago). Decades later they made a similar series out of it starring Ken Howard, I believe, but one of the stars passed away and the series was junked. Besides, I always thought my favorite actor, Jeff Goldblum, would have been a better choice for the part.

Inspired by Bill Simmons' recent podcast (IYKYK), it got me thinking about what movies from the 21st Century I've seen the most. Not what's the best, or even favourite, but just the ones that I have rewatched the most times. For me, it's either something that was always on TV (American Pie 2, Hot Fuzz, and Shaun of the Dead were movies that were always on one specific channel at night in the UK for years and years, and I always inevitably watched them), or something where I tend to do a yearly rewatch, like LOTR/Harry Potter. What were yours?

I don't know about you, but I love setting intentions and goals for the new year. Do you have any goals or intentions that are specific to gaming?
