I really want to see that cancelled Wonder Woman game come into fruition. Devastated that got cancelled.

Replaying favorites is such a great way to roll into a new year!

I have big questions/concerns about this movie in general. The original films were great, but I've been less happy with subsequent attempts to iterate on the source material. Frodo being in a Gollum movie doesn't make me feel any better about the project, I don't think.

It really depends for me. If it's something I've been looking forward to, I want to jump in from the beginning. But I often come to things later, after I hear enough about them to realize that it might be a fit for me. And that can be a fun way to get lost in a new world, too.

New releases for the first month of the year are always a bit slow. So I'm curious how people are starting their year in gaming. Are you diving into any new (or new to you) games this month? Personally, I'm mostly digging back into Animal Crossing to get ready for the 3.0 update, but I have tried a few new games, too.

Seeing Professor X and Magneto playing chess will always make my X-Men loving heart happy. I'm sure Cyclops is upset about Jean, but I kind of hope it's something more interesting than that, somehow.

This is my answer, too! Unfortunately, my friend group is kind of "over" the game, so I don't get to play it often.

I want to DM my first D&D session in 2026, too! I'm probably going to start with a one-shot to see how I like it. Homebrew campaigns can be so good!

I go into every year with dreams of a Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves sequel. Other than that, I'd like to see something interesting from Marvel, but I'm a bit doubtful.

It is so hard to get back into most games if you set them aside for very long, for sure.

I'm excited for the next season of Frieren and Bridgerton Season 4, to a much lesser extent. Other than that, my pipe dream is to see some news about a second season of Agatha All Along and about theh Netflix Dungeons & Dragons series.

We've talked a lot about our favorite new games from 2025 and what we're looking forward to in 2026. But not every game we play is a new favorite. What games did you try out in the last year that you're definitely not finishing/picking back up in 2026? I abandoned last year's Pokemon-like Creature Keeper because I really hated the UI and lack of a map. But honestly, I liked or finished most of the games I played last year. What about you?

Really hoping you get some of your big wishlist items this year! I know I'm looking forward to Gen 10 and some other surprise announcements this year. Fingers crossed for those ports, too!

I did that a few years ago and it was lovely to revisit that world! Or should I say worlds.

I watched Apothecary Diaries and Frieren this year, and both were absolute hits for me. In general, 2025 has been a year of getting back into manga and anime for me, and it's been really nice. Also still kind of can't believe Pokemon actually announced a cozy game. Pokopia isn't what I was hoping for, exactly, but it's wild to see and I can't wait to actually play it.

I don't know about you, but I love setting intentions and goals for the new year. Do you have any goals or intentions that are specific to gaming? I'm hoping to get caught up with some of my backlog and also try more games that aren't necessarily in my wheelhouse, since I loved a few of those this year.

I've got a few nerdy ways to support my fitness goals, including a TTRPG-inspired fitness game and continuing my solid streak in Fitness Boxing 3. Also hoping to actually keep a reading journal this year like I always say I will.

I snagged the Scarlet Witch Funko Pop I've been wanting for my strong female characters Funko collection (she's joining Captain Marvel, Android 18, and Doric from the D&D movie). Also got a few gift cards I immediately spent on some new manga.

For me it's a close call between the PS2 and Nintendo 64. I think I have to give it to the N64 just because it was my family's first real console and is probably what made me a gamer today.

I love Dungeons & Dragons, but I think Pathfinder can be a bit more friendly to new players in terms of easier access to free versions of the rules. I started with Pathfinder and now play D&D primarily, and it's only occasionally confusing. As for Marvel Multiverse, I really want to give that one a try. I've watched a few of the actual plays for it with The Glass Cannon Network, and that gives you a pretty good sense of the basic rules and mechanics, which I find helpful for figuring out if I'll like a system.

I'm pretty confident we're getting Pokemon Gen 10, even if some folks are saying it won't be here until 2027. With the 30th anniversay this year, I'd be shocked if we don't get a new mainline game. I'd also love to say Elder Scrolls 6 but I kind of doubt that we're getting it this year. Hopefully 2027.

I've had an interesting gaming year where I started a ton of games, but fully finished very few of them. My surprise breakout hit was Umamusume: Pretty Derby, which I am still playing daily after several months. Top 5 are probably: Hades 2 Oblivion Remastered Umamusume: Pretty Derby Cinnabunny Tiny Bookshop I also sunk a ton of time into Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. The game was a mess, but I felt compelled to finish the story.

Kingdom Hearts news would be amazing!

We know of a few big games coming out next year already, but what are you hoping to see in 2026? I've got a wishlist for Pokemon Day 2026, and I'm really hoping Bethesda gives us something on Elder Scrolls 6 next year. What about you?

I don't watch a ton of TV, but I did get back into anime this year. I think The Apothecary Diaries is probably my top watch for the year. Maomao is such a great protagonist, and I can't wait for the next season. I'm so impatient, I've started reading the light novels just to get more of that world lol. Also enjoyed Frieren, which I watched with my husband.
