  1. The only actor I'm super familiar with on the list is Adam Driver. I've only seen Navarrette in Obsession and Sink in Stranger Things (before Brand New Day, of course). I don't think I've seen any of the others in anything. But Marvel has always excelled at casting, so I trust them. I like that Driver isn't Magneto. I've been rewatching the Fox X-Men movies, and Ian McKellen was perfect. Christopher Abbott has a very tough act to follow in Patrick Stewart. At least Driver can put his own stamp on a character.
  2. I'm okay with it (assuming Stan is telling the truth and wasn't just messing with people). Having a character like Harvey makes sense in the Batman Epic Crime Saga, and if we really are getting Gilda Dent and Harvey's father, it could distinguish itself from Dark Knight. Hopefully the DCU can eventually get its take on Batman off the ground and we can get other Batman villains through that franchise.
  3. I saw Doomsday is way ahead of Brand New Day in ticket pre-sales. Should Dune 3 move up to that December 11 window to give it a bit of a buffer or are we past the point of no return there? I think both movies will be just fine in that weekend, but it's a thought that popped in my head.
  4. Interrogation scene in The Dark Knight. Honorable mentions to the first Bane fight in Dark Knight Rises and the opening monologue in The Batman.
  5. I hope it's Shang-Chi 2. Maybe Doomsday will reignite interest in that character and they'll look to capitalize with that film finally. I don't see them releasing a Spider-Man movie in September. Spidey 5 is gonna be either summer or holiday season. I wonder if that'd be a Sony announcement too because of the film rights. Not 100% sure how that works honestly. Does Disney/Marvel announce Spider-Man dates?
  6. Since this is likely the last hurrah for the Fox X-Men cast, I've decided to rewatch some of those this year. Other than Logan, it's been years since I've watched them. I've done the original trilogy already and am planning on doing First Class, The Wolverine, Days of Future Past, and Logan at some point. That's a nice little mutant saga that weeds out most of the bad ones! It's been a fun trip down memory lane revisiting these films. I've toyed with doing an Infinity Saga rewatch. I haven't seen a lot of those movies since the theater. But that's a ton of movies, some of which I thought were just fine when I first saw them.
  7. I've only played the Norse era games. It's one of my favorite gaming franchises. Hard to say which one I like better. 2018 is great but I also had a ton of fun with Ragnarok. Especially when they added the Valhalla DLC. I could just jump in and do a quick run. Really looking forward to the Greek trilogy remake.
  8. I wonder if they wanted to include a section or two where you play as one of the other X-Men but they didn't have the time to fully develop the mechanics since they were building everything for Wolverine from scratch. The Venom segment in Spider-Man 2 was so great. I'd love something like that in a future X-Men game. Maybe now that they've got the blueprint down they can expand it for the next game.
  9. I think I'm fine with it. It would be cool to get to play as some other mutants, but I'm guessing Wolverine is the first in a series of X-Men games Insomniac wants to make so maybe in there will be more playable characters in the sequel.
  10. According to the latest X-Men rumors, Magneto will be 30-35 years old in the MCU reboot. Fans are concerned they're going to scrub the character's Holocaust backstory. What do you make of this? And how would you handle this if you were Kevin Feige?
  11. Doomsday would be my second pick. If that film sucks and we're left talking about how bad it was for a year before Secret Wars, any momentum established by Spidey is lost. I feel like Brand New Day got people excited for the MCU again, but these two Avengers movies need to hit it out of the park.
  12. Man of Tomorrow. If that isn't well-received and a box office hit, it'd be really bad for the DCU. Especially with Gunn and Safran's contract status up in the air.
  13. I'm hoping for some kind of Star Wars Starfighter update. Also curious to see the rest of the X-Men cast.
  14. I never got into comics, so the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy was my introduction to the whole superhero thing. I grew up with that series and still love it. Seeing Dafoe, Molina, and Tobey come back in No Way Home made me feel like a little kid again.
  15. I think it's kinda interesting that some of the most successful MCU movies after Endgame are the ones that limit the "required reading." Guardians 3 and the two Spider-Man movies are almost like epilogue chapters for the Infinity Saga. Everyone knows the Infinity Saga, so it's a lot easier to just jump into those.
  16. I'm actually in the middle of a Skeleton Crew rewatch, and it's such a fun show. Jude Law is great and I love the Amblinesque tone.
  17. I'm happy that the social media reactions for this one are positive. We'll see what the Rotten Tomatoes score is, but sounds like it's gonna be a good time.
  18. This might sound crazy, but Ant-Man could be a fun one. I'm sure someone could do something cool with a size-changing mechanic.
  19. I think people are being more selective about which ones they see. I was surprised last year when Thunderbolts disappointed at the box office. I feel like if that came out in 2015 or 2016 it would have been one of the biggest movies of the year. The A-list superheroes like Spider-Man and Batman are in a league of their own at the box office. They're always gonna put up huge numbers. Although, I am surprised that Brand New Day turned out to be this big. It's a good movie, but putting up Endgame numbers is crazy.
  20. We've got a new original sci-fi movie coming out this weekend! Anyone excited for The End of Oak Street? I've always been intrigued by the concept. I'm planning on seeing it this week. I hope it does well because it at least on paper, it sounds like the kind of movie we could use more of.
  21. I'm looking forward to Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. I really liked the two mainline Plague Tale games. I love story-driven single player games like that. Hopefully Resonance isn't as emotionally draining as Requiem! The ending of Requiem is one of the few times a video game left me feeling truly gutted.
  22. I actually think I'd like this. It would be more of an interesting angle than just having Evans play Captain America again for the sake of nostalgia. I'm not 100% sold on Doomsday being a good movie yet, but Steve dealing with the repercussions of the Time Heist could be a solid hook.
  23. Probably Venom for me. I never got into comics, but Venom had a big role in the Spider-Man PS1 video game and I just thought he was a cool character. If we're talking movie villains, you can't beat Dafoe's Goblin.
  24. I'm very curious to see how Doomsday holds at the box office. I have no doubt it'll have a big opening, but that second weekend drop is gonna tell the real story.
  25. I think it could be cool. Like Nick said, it'd be something different for Batman movies. I trust Reeves as a director to handle it properly.
