So, it seems that the tall warrior-like female character being cast for Man of Tomorrow is NOT Wonder Woman, but Maxima. That means we'll likely get a "Panic in the Sky" adaptation. That's exciting news for me, but I wonder what you think of it.

On the one hand, I guess some people will be disappointed Diana is not in the movie. On the other hand, we will get a follow-up joke to "Superman's Harem."

I can't say I know much about Maxima, but I'm certainly glad that Man of Tomorrow isn't shoehorning in Wonder Woman. I'm very interested to see what the DCU has in store for Diana and there'll be a lot they can do with that character, but let's not repeat the mistakes of the DCEU's rushed setup

I hope they don't incorporate her just to create tension between Clark and Lois, I was kind of hoping we'd just get these two in a drama-free relationship on the big screen

HOW did I not think of the "Superman's Harem" connection LOL?

I only learned Maxima is a character yesterday when I saw the news. I trust Gunn. Had no idea who Mr. Terrific was before Superman and now I love him.

I have no idea who that is, but I'll trust in da Gunn. I'm sure it's going to be awesome either way.

I'll publish an explainer soon, as a lot of people seem to be unaware of Maxima. But in a few words, she's an alien warrior travelling the cosmos searching for a suitable mate to have plenty of powerful children... and she obviously thinks Superman is the prime candidate. Yes, it's weird, but it could be comedy gold.

Oh this sounds great.

I mean, I'M not going to be one to bet against James Gunn making an obscure or lower-teir character into a pop-culture icon, but YOU can....

Maxima makes a lot of sense when you look at how Gunn approaches characters. She'll likely have a smaller part but she can inject some fun chaos in Superman's world and the opportunity for some comedy moments once you work Clark, Lois, and Jimmy into the mix. I'm glad it's someone like her and not Wonder Woman, because that's exactly what we did wrong last time. You work in a host of b and c characters around your star and not multiple A characters, which is what happened in BvS
