Do you think Lucasfilm was right to cancel The Acolyte?

I don't think the show was perfect, but it had potential, and it ended in a really interesting place. It had huge problems with the budget, but I'd have been interested to see where the story went.

Yes and no... I wouldn't mind seeing where the Qimir/Plagueis stuff goes, would like more Star Wars shows that explore eras that aren't within the same 30 year period and handful of characters that everything else exists in, and definitely wish it didn't always feel like Disney caves in to the most toxic parts of the Star Wars fandom. But I also cannot say that I thought The Acolyte was good, and I might not have even finished it if not for work, so I don't really miss it 🤷‍♂️

It was a very strange show. There were elements I loved - the core dynamic that came about at the end was really interesting. But it took too long to get there, and the flashbacks killed all sense of momentum.

I honestly feel that the show had potential, bringing plagueis in was a tease and I do believe they wouldn't have portrayed him as well as we would have hoped so I'm glad that they didn't ruin him. But we don't know what they would have done either.

The depth of the show was lacking, but another season could have expanded the story and given us more insight to the old Republic era.

I mourn the loss of this show. Season 1 wasn’t perfect but the story it set up for season 2 had me so excited. Manny Jacinto’s character was so interesting and getting more Knights of Ren lore would have enhanced the sequel trilogy in a positive way. But sure, cancel this and we got the Mandalorian and Grogu movie in theaters. 😒

If Daredevil:Born Again can jump in quality like this from one season to another, The Acolyte should’ve gotten another shot at it for sure.

I think season 1 went for the Rashomon approach; season 2 could’ve been more straightforward, with conflicts between the characters we liked, and a pivotal Sith Lord in the mix (Plagueis). Would’ve been dope.

Agreed... it wasn't perfect, but there were definitely areas that I would have liked to see expanded upon.

Yes, all I heard was negative comments about the show and all the woke stuff they integrated into it. It turned me off so bad, I didn’t even want to watch it.

Recently rewatched it - Season 2 would've been a good time. More focus on The Stranger and Plagueis, as well as the secrets Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh was hiding.

I was an avid reader of The High Republic material, and so Rwoh was a character I was very interested in seeing more from.
