Do you make in-game purchases?

Featured Replies

How do you feel about in-game purchases? I really miss the days where you can play a game, complete everything, and you're done. Maybe a DLC here and there which adds content to the game. But I'm tired of certain items and stuff being locked behind a paywall. I get that company's need to make money. So I do appreciate those who do spend money in-game to keep a free game running, But personally I can't find myself to spend money in a game that isn't actually going to give me more game content rather than just cosmetics. I miss when cosmetics was something that came with the game and you had to perform some kind of tasks to unlock them. Same with characters. Are you F2P in games or do you spend money? And why?

I am with you. I don't mind paying for DLC on occasion, but I don't like spending on cosmetics or in-game boosts. I love free-to-play games, but I'm almost always entirely F2P. I'll grind for in-game currency, but I don't spend on it. The exception is the occasional Remote Raid Pass top-up in Pokemon Go so I can raid with friends, but that's a gameplay feature rather than something that's purely cosmetic.

This, 100%.

Free to play whenever I can, and for like content expansions if the cost isn’t too restrictive and I really like a game I’ll try to get it

I don't play F2P games. I really only stick to single player games. In those cases, I'll buy DLC if it adds story content, but I wouldn't upgrade to the deluxe edition or whatever for cosmetics.

Even when I played sports games like Madden and NBA 2K, I steered clear of the microtransaction stuff and just played franchise mode.

This is basically where I stand, too. I'll buy some DLC, but other in-game purchases are a no for me.

I pretty much never did until Fortnite hooked me a few years back. Bought more skins that I probably should have. Nowadays, I've mostly stopped but I do stay subscribed to Fortnite Crew.

As the resident Overwatch player, yes, I do buy stuff. Partially because I know it helps a free to play game keep going, but also because sometimes it's just fun to have a new thing in my favorite game.

I both hate in game purchases, but i am also super guilty of falling into the trap of getting them for aesthetic purposes if they include any of my other favorite fandoms
