June 25Jun 25 CB Team People were not happy to find out just how much content is locked behind the $20 upgrade to the Ultimate Edition of GTA 6. But apparently, 80% of gamers are already saying they're going to pay for it, according to a recent poll. Where do you stand?
June 25Jun 25 CB Team I wouldn't pay $100 for an Ultimate Edition of Insomniac's Spider-Man 3, and that's probably my most anticipated game that hasn't been announced yet.$70 is more than enough to pay for a new release. I've never gotten the ultimate edition of anything at launch. I've probably upgraded once or twice afterwards to get story DLC, but I wouldn't pay extra just for cosmetics.
June 25Jun 25 CB Team I am afraid to say that I might be willing to pull the trigger on it, though it will no doubt mean that I don't buy some other kind of game or release at the same time.

But even though GTA 6 feels more aggressive than most, the locked shops still seem like they would mostly offer cosmetic content still. So even if I was planning to buy GTA 6, I don't think I'd pay $100 for it.

June 25Jun 25 CB Team The difference between $80 and $100 feels so slim that I'll probably just go with the Ultimate Edition. If it had been priced any higher, though, I would have certainly just stuck with the standard.

Is it somewhat predatory that base content in past games is locked behind another version now,? Yes. But the difference is just enough that they're banking on me saying, "eh, okay."Sadly, they're right to, because it's what I said
June 25Jun 25 CB Team This one's tough, and honestly, I'll probably just skip Ultimate and go with the standard. At the end of the day, $20 is still $20, and I could buy something else with that...like a Marvel Rivals skin or something :)

I'll be curious to see which version my husband demands I download for him on the PS5 when the time comes because he's much more the GTA fan in the house than I am lol.
