Marvel Super Heroes, assemble! So apparently MARVEL MaXimum Collection is real and it’s packing 13 classic Marvel games from across console and handheld versions We’re talking: • X-Men: The Arcade Game • Maximum Carnage • Captain America and the Avengers • Spider-Man and the X-men • …and more deep cuts But what really shocked me: there’s a Silver Surfer game included that I had literally NEVER seen before And I thought I knew most Marvel retro titles! This collection feels like a love letter to that old-school Marvel gaming era sprites, arcade chaos, 16-bit nostalgia, all preserved in one place. Did anyone here know this was coming? And has anyone actually playe…

Now that the dust has settled a bit from Toy Fair, I'm starting to process what I liked most and what I'm most excited about, and one of those is Mattel's new DC toy line. The McFarlane DC Multiverse line ends this year, and these are the basic action figures from Mattel, as the Collector figures will debut closer to 2027. I really like what I saw from this initial wave in terms of sculpts, articulation, and roster selection. I mean, c'mon, Deathstroke is one of the opening wave of figures, freaking Deathstroke! It bodes well for getting some niche characters sooner rather than later with more waves. What did you think of the new figures, and which character do you hope t…

I am new here and was told to post a new post with a hot take, so I thought why not this. While I do love Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger as The Joker, I truly love the Jeremiah Valeska version, especially before he falls into the vat. I just found him to be truly menacing and have a sociopathic quality that resonated with me. I realize he was never called Joker in that series but, you know, he really was.

Finally, one of the gals gets to be a horrifying monster! The story is kinda dumb with the "mix all the DNA together" excuse, but that's the average for Absolute Batman. It's still incredibly cool to see Batman wielding double chainshaws and a flamethrower. How did you like this week's issue?

With Vertigo back in a big way, I've been revisiting the imprint and am reminded of so many of the absolutely fantastic books that -are not- the major titles everyone thinks about. I'm talking books like Faker, Hex Wives, etc. What are your favorite, perhaps underappreciated Vertigo books and why?

Steam Next Fest started yesterday and runs through March 2nd. I've been busy playing a lot of the demos so I can write a roundup. But I'm curious how other people approach Next Fest. Do you like to play demos or would you rather wait for the full game? I'm a bit selective about which demos I want to play. Anything that's super story-driven but doesn't have progress that carries over, I tend to skip unless it's a HUGE wishlist item because I don't want to replay the story. And if you ARE playing demos, let me know which ones caught your eye! I'm going to probably try and squeeze a few more in this week.

Over the weekend, I had a chance to try out the free Pragmata demo Capcom released. It was cool to finally play a bit of that game. I've been looking forward to it since it was announced years ago. The hacking mechanic is pretty cool. Adds something to the combat so it's not just running and shooting. Probably gonna take a bit to get into the swing of that though. I took some hits during the boss fight because I was so focused on the hacking I forgot to dodge.

I really, really want the MCU's Mutant Saga to move on from Wolverine. But which X-Men are you most excited to see in the MCU?

You're living your life, doing your thing when one morning you wake up and you are now a character in a comic --- you're not a currently existing character. You're a new and semi-significant one. This isn't a one-off appearance here, you're in it for the run. Maybe you have superpowers. Maybe you don't. The real question here is what comic series or overall universe have you been dropped in and, bonus question: why.
