I won't post any art from the comic book series because we are trying to keep this place SFW. However, this weekend I grabbed the compedium and finally decided to give it a try... I haven't finished the whole series yet, but it's already on my Top 10. It's fun and lighthearted, but surprisingly profound when it comes to sexuality. The premise is comedy gold (people who can stop time after orgasming decide to rob a bank), but I was not expecting it to have so much sensibility in dealing with things like birth control pills, antidepressant effects on libido, the taboo of women's orgasms, masturbation, assexuality... The news just hit that Netflix has stepped away from the deal with Warner Bros. Discovery after a new offer from Paramount sweetened the deal. I was one of the people who said the Netflix and WBD deal was the best case scenario and the Paramount deal was the worst case, and now that's actually happened. I have zero trust in Paramount that they can actually utilize WBD correctly, and this will also mean substantial layoffs most likely as well. That's just me though, but what do you think?

Apparently, Sony is closing the page on its failed villain universe and is willing to start fresh with a reboot of live-action movies... I'm not sure that can work, unless these new movies are set in the MCU and made in partnership with Marvel Studios. Spider-Man movies without Spider-Man are doomed to fail, and given how popular Tom Holland and the MCU are, it wouldn't make sense to have a parallel franchise running at the same time. Unless they focus on the Spider-Verse, like with Spider-Noir. What do you think about it?

We just got the news that Absolute Green Arrow and Absolute Catwoman are launching later this year, adding to Absolute Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and Flash. Which DC characters do you want to get an Absolute book next? Personally, I'd love to see what the Absolute Universe could do with someone like Blue Beetle or a group of magic users in a Justice League Dark type of book. Can you imagine Absolute Deadman?? Could be wild.

I just finished watching Prime Video's new pirate movie, The Bluff, and I absolutely loved it! The John Wick-style action and the pirate theming were on point, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas killed it in the lead role. Karl Urban was great too, and I think action movie fans will love it. For those who have seen it, what did you think?

Final voting for the Oscars opened today (finally... I'm ready for awards season to be over), so it got me wondering if any of you are rooting for a particular win this year. Best Picture seems to be between One Battle and Sinners. I'm fine with either winning. Love both. I think it would be cool if Amy Madigan won Best Supporting Actress. It'd be a different and exciting kind of move for them. Oscars usually aren't known for awarding horror movies. It'd be like when Marisa Tomei won for a comedy.
