  1. I feel like kids would enjoy a reboot (and by kids I mean my kid would).
  2. I have been angry about it since Charlie mentioned it earlier today.
  3. I've reached the point where I don't know if anything can save the MCU. I'm tired. I'm ready for them to do something new.
  4. Duck Hunt remains such an elite game. I will never get over Duck Hunt.
  5. Here's the thing: I don't think Absolute Batman is better than regular Batman. I don't think it's a matter of one being better than the other. I think they're just different takes on the same general concept but if I had to pick something, I think I like that Martha Wayne lived in the Absolute Universe. Considering how different writers have done her dirty in their various attempts at "gritty" stories, seeing a Martha who is alive and arguably "thriving" in some capacity is refreshing.
  6. When I say I would do crime to get more Rocketeer....
  7. If I recall it started with some dude named Ignotus Peverell or something similar and has been a Potter family heirloom.
  8. I mean, $100 seems reasonable to me. Then again, I'm that person who once camped outside for like 3 days to get a gaming system and two days to get a damn copy of Halo 2 so my idea of "reasonable" might be suspect.
  9. So, we all know that nostalgia right now is huge and that's manifesting in a lot of ways. Old shows are getting "reboots" or new seasons. We're seeing toys and things reintroduced with new versions, etc. Starbucks brought back the egg nog latte -- though I got one today and turns out they have dramatically changed it and it's awful now. What is something nostalgic that you once loved, it finally got brought back, but when it came back just wasn't the same? I think another one for me was when they sort of re-did Care Bears several years ago. The new ones just have never looked quite right to me.
  10. Not willingly, but every year sometime between Thanksgiving and New Year I am subjected to the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy, the extended versions.
  11. I am going to get roasted for this but I still like the most recent adaptation of The Stand.
  12. I've always assumed that Thor tries because he likes the idea of presents but also doesn't understand the concept so he gives you something like a weird live animal. Man, Groot would be the BEST person to have your name in a Secret Santa.
  13. This is something we did a few years ago during the Arrowverse days, where we tried to figure out which Arrowverse hero was the worst Secret Santa and I thought it might be fun to ask the question again, just on a much larger scale now that it's December. What superhero -- from any form of media -- do you think is the worst Secret Santa and why? What sort of awful Secret Santa presents do they give and is anyone outright banned from participating?
  14. I am the only "nerd" in my family so nerdy holiday memories are sort of rare, but I tend to come back to the year when my parents got me a Nintendo... and got my brother a television and had the genius idea that it would somehow force us to have to play together. It did not.
  15. I don't watch Stranger Things so I cannot be specific about this season or the show, but in general I prefer weekly drops for ANY release. There is something community building about letting something play out over time that I genuinely miss about teleivison.
  16. I didn’t ask for anything nerdy this holiday. As someone with a December birthday, I usually end up with a combo present (yes it sucks) and family often just uses the nebulous “something nerdy” category as a generic surprise to grab from. It’s resulted in some hilariously weird gifts over the years, like a GIANT plush Cartman that has turned into a running family joke. I am HOPING for the Lord of the Rings LEGO book nook this year, though.
  17. I don't ever really think about Thanksgiving TV save for Peanuts and this year I learned that my partner just now figured out the whole controversy about Franklin and it melted my mind a little.
  18. This tracks. Bonus points if it's dented because he got in an altercation with a villain on the way to dinner.
  19. I also want to note I feel like Oliver Queen is absolutely banned from bringing chili but does it anyway.
  20. I feel like Alfred, when alive, probably intervened and cooked something on her behalf.
  21. Just for fun, what dish do you think your favorite superhero brings to Thanksgiving dinner? It's been my own personal headcanon for years that Batman brings deviled eggs because they're a good source of protein.
  22. For me, a Thanksgiving movie needs to involve some sort of travel misadventures or food-related mayhem. My two movies that fit the "Thanksgiving" category are Planes, Trains, and Automobiles and The Wiz. That said, I don't actually watch either of them at Thanksgiving (usually.) In my house, the movie(s) we end up with for Thanksgiving are the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy like god intended.
  23. Batman. One of my dad's old comics from the 40s that I swiped as a kid. I've been yelling about Batman pretty much since childhood and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.
