What Comics Character Has the MCU Done The Best Job Adapting?

We all know that the MCU is a bit loose with how they tend to adapt Marvel characters, but some are done better than others. Which character (or characters) do you think the MCU has done the best job of adapting?

I still think Thanos is one of the toughest to adapt but ended up being done really well.

Obviously, there are plenty of cool Thanos stories that we may never see but Brolin and the effects team did an excellent job - and successfully made Thanos sympathetic (to an extent). Not to mention, unlike the MCU lately, the build-up across 12 years of MCU films made his full appearances worth it.

I generally agree. I really like what they did with Thanos in the MCU -- he felt pretty accurate without being too much of a carbon copy, and was compelling and interesting in a way that lent itself to a lot of discussion (or at least in my case, getting yelled at online when I suggested that Thanos wasn't exactly wrong in concept, just in action.)

I think Marvel and James Gunn did an incredible job on the Guardians of the Galaxy. In the comics, they are mostly forgettable (Star-Lord is 100 times better with Nova in the comics than with the team), and the movies made them entertaining and incredibly fun. That first movie could have failed and ended up as a fantastic release.

I also think that Chris Evans is a perfect Captain America.

Robert Downey Jr. is a better Iron Man than the comic book version, where I actually can't stand the character. I also enjoy Thor (as a character) in the MCU more than I do in a lot of his comic book stories.

I genuinely dislike comics Iron Man/Tony Stark. I got to a point with the MCU where I was sick of RDJ's Tony, but those early appearances? Epic.

Daredevil 100% for me, Cox and Co all brought their respective characters to life in the original show and the ones who returned for Born Again. But if TV isn't in play based off everything I've read with him in it, Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange always felt spot on

I loathed Tony Stark after Civil War, so RDJ really rehabilitated the character for me. The top character for me though is Scarlet Witch. She was fine in the comics, but Elizabeth Olsen's version from the MCU is the version that I love. She's just fantastic.

Stopping by to drop some love to Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow. I absolutely love the character, and I think she did an incredible job portraying Natasha. Of course, the MCU has the same issue as Marvel Comics, forcing her to be more of a support to others than her own character.

This is kind of a tricky question for me to answer, because when I think of my favorite MCU characters, I think of the characters that improve from the comics.

I think RDJ's Iron Man truly elevated that hero in ways the comics never could match, but it wasn't an accurate portrayal of the character in the comics. Nonetheless, RDJ's performance has become so ingrained into Iron Man that the character in the comics is now a reflection of how he appears in the movies.

Other characters who I think are also better in the MCU than in the comics are Agatha, Nubia, and Star-Lord.

I know it might seem like recency bias, but I think it's Galactus. Not only does he look perfect, but he's intelligent, ruthless, and carries with him the same dangerous presence that is felt when reading him on the page. Especially considering how unique and difficult of a character he is do adapt, I think they did an outstanding job.

Definitely Captain America. But also Jessica Jones. I think the MCU gets Iron Man/Tony Stark better than the comic books.

They do do a very good job with Jessica Jones, that's true.

I think its a Netflix thing. Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Punisher were all great interpretations.

I agree. Even though the script for the Luke Cage series wasn't stellar, Mike Colter's Luke is awesome! (Btw, I see you left Iron Fist out of this list... I still think the actor is not too much at fault, and the mistake was trying to follow The CW's Arrow)
