January 5Jan 5 CB Team Seeing a lot of great discussions on here about our favorite video games, and it got me thinking: what’s your favorite board game?I discovered Horrified a few years back and fell in love with it. It’s such a fun game, and I love that you can replay it over and over again without it ever being the same. My fiancée and I have set up entire game night Horrified tournaments going up against the different monsters with different heroes.
January 5Jan 5 CB Team I'll have to check that one out! We try to play board games with the kids, but it's hard to find any that keeps their attention. We tried Exploding Kittens the other day but I couldn't figure it out lol. My oldest is interested in trying the Marvel Multiverse RPG and possibly D&D so we will see.
January 5Jan 5 CB Team LOVE Horrified, but my answer is always Betrayal at the House on the Hill. Only trouble is it requires minimum three players, so I sledom have chances to play.

So there are always opportunities to dive into it.

I find it's extremely difficult to get those 3 minimum player games to the table.

January 6Jan 6 CB Team I'm going to go with my favorites of the past few months of 2025 (we play a lot of board games haha), and some of the ones that have been making it to the table frequently include:WonkyUnmatched: WitcherStar Wars: Deck Building GameThe Sims Board GameDodoGloomiesA good mix of genres, and the family has especially had a great time with Wonky and Dodo.
January 6Jan 6 CB Team That's a hard question...I absolutely love Patchwork for quick two-people matches. Takenoko is another one I've been playing for years without losing interest. I've recently got Turing Machine, and it's one of the most unique designs I've ever seen! Codex, Pixies, The Mind, Azul... There are so many wonderful board games that it's hard to pick one.

I have the D&D version, but haven't had the chance to play it yet, but I'm super excited to give it a go!!

I'm a big Sims 4 player, so I've been really interested in the board game but haven't heard much about it so far. May have to grab it soon and try it!

It's more about accomplishing your objectives by utilizing the Sims than managing their actual lives like the video game, but I like how they weaved together the locations, the various jobs, and the player's needs (energy, fun, social, etc). Plus once you get the hang of it the game plays pretty quickly.

January 6Jan 6 CB Team I took some of the recommendations from here and getting a few for the family. I have 3 kids that play on their tablets way too much and I think board games would be good for them. I'm looking into getting a version of Horrified and we just got Exploding Kittens haha! I'm still trying to learn how to play it, but I think I almost have it.
