January 9Jan 9 CB Team I just realized that Marvel is dropping all eight episodes of this at once at the end of the month. I don't think any of us expected this one to have any relevance to Doomsday or Secret Wars, but it stinks that this one will almost certainly come and go with no impact.Anyone else hate to see this happen in the MCU?
January 9Jan 9 CB Team Yeah, it IS quite sad to see. Feels like a show that was greenlit and then Marvel didn't feel confident of.
January 9Jan 9 CB Team Yeah, it does feel like one of those projects that’s getting quietly dropped rather than rolled out with any real confidence.Part of me wonders if dumping all the episodes at once is Marvel just trying to get it out there without overcommitting, especially since it doesn’t seem tied into the bigger picture.I’m still curious to watch it, but I agree it’s hard not to feel like it’ll come and go pretty fast unless word of mouth really kicks in.
January 9Jan 9 CB Team Sad to see. I'm not like super hyped for Wonder Man or anything, but it seems like it could be fun. I like the whole meta angle and commentary on superhero movies/shows. It seemed different. But I guess they don't have much faith in it.

January 10Jan 10 Could one of the reasons why Marvel seems to have deemed it a "c-list" release is in response to some of the negativity it's getting from fan communities and "comic book influencers."
January 10Jan 10 CB Team Part of me is happy about this because, as a Wonder Man fan generally, I love that I'll get to sit and just absorb it all at once. I've been so excited for this show since it was announced and I'm so interested to see what they do. It has the potential to be a really interesting series and surprisingly smart, too.The rest of me is mad as a Wonder Man fan because my boy deserves more and I really hate that Marvel does this.

January 10Jan 10 It does suck, but it won't change much in our house. We watch the Marvel Disney+ shows as a family, and it is usually one episode a week, even if they do drop them all at once (like with Eyes of Wakanda). I hate how Netflix drops every episode at once because it eliminates the chance for people to discuss the series and look forward to what is next, since half of the people will just watch it all on Day 1 and be finished with it.

Many of my friends, in contrast to your point, don't get how Americans can stand waiting weeks or months to figure out the ending. There is also less dread about dropping spoilers. Personally, I still adhere to the weekly drop ... I just have to avoid all the chatter.
January 10Jan 10 CB Team I love when shows drop all at once, so this is great for me. I can't say I'm that excited for the show, as I've never been a big Wonder Man person anyway, but having it all drop at once means I can watch it at my leisure, and if it's great I can just keep watching.

It's impossible and forces us to watch it quickly so we can keep up with the conversations.
January 11Jan 11 CB Team It's what happened to Ironheart too, and that died on the vine. This is likely the same way, and it's a shame that it's another Black led show that's getting this treatment. Not a good look for Disney tbh

I wouldn't pin the whole thing being dumped on it, but it deffinitly contributed
January 12Jan 12 CB Team I prefer a weekly rollout, and in my experience, Marvel Studios dropping a whole show at once is not a great sign. Everything I see about this show makes me want to watch it, but I was also excited about Echo, and that show is not great.
