Stop releasing Super Bowl spots early!

The Super Bowl is one of the last times millions of people watch the same thing at the same time, so don't drop the commercials or trailers early! That's part of the fun! Seeing them all at the same time and turning to your cousin and being like "that looks stupid lol"

I agree! There's no point in watching if all the spots are released days or weeks ahead of time. It's no longer fun and it certainly can't be helpful for ratings in terms of getting people to watch the Super Bowl who might not otherwise -- there are plenty of people who casually have the game on JUST for ads and trailers!

If I was in charge of the marketing budget, I would ask why are we spending a gazillion dollars for a Super Bowl spot when we're going to post it on YouTube for free days in advance.

I have never understood this. It has bothered me for years. I make a point to not watch any of the Super Bowl ads before the game.

I agree! I was one of those people who would watch the Super Bowl for the trailer and commercials, but this current trend of releasing those early means I have no benefit to sit through a football game.

I would like to see Your Friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man season 2, with new villains, new allies and Erica Lindbeck as Spider-Gwen. Don’t worry I’m not spamming and not repeating it.

THIS, yes. The commercials used to be a big part of the fun of watching the super bowl. There's way less incentive to watch now if you're not a football fan, or even if you are a football fan but not a fan of one of the 2 teams playing :(

Definitely agree! I miss when the commercials were a surprise. I don't care for football at all, so I only participate in Super Bowl festivities for the food and the commercials. I try to just avoid watching any of them ahead of time but it's still less novel than it used to be.
