July 20Jul 20 CB Team Every era of comics has its trends. Some stick around because fans love them, while others wear out their welcome. Is there one trend you're ready to see disappear? Constant relaunches? Variant overload? Event fatigue? Characters never staying dead? Something else? For me, I'd be happy if publishers slowed down on the constant #1 relaunches. I like following a series without wondering when the numbering is going to reset again. What about everyone else?
July 20Jul 20 CB Team Constant relaunches, I think. Magik has really had too many, when she could've just... had one ongoing.
July 21Jul 21 CB Team The current trend now seems to be everyone trying to jump on the success of Absolute with a darker relaunch. Not going to work for everything!

July 22Jul 22 Im so sick and tired of all the different variant covers that they pump out to sell the same comic 20x over. As someone who has nearly completed compiling a collection of every Doom cover ever printed, with the exception of the early FF covers and ASM #5, someday..lol the overwhelming push by marvel to spring Doom into the public eye with the hundreds of recent Doom covers and still going I might add has almost made me give up on the entire endeavor. Remember when kids bought their favorite comic when it came out at the local comic shop, now we have 20 variants for the same issue for as long as they can get away with it just to make a buck. It cheapens and ruins the hobby in my opinion. Just with the recent one world under Doom series and all of the variants that followed, do the math it has been ridiculous, I thought I was gonna have to take out a second mortgage all for books that undoubtedly won't be worth squat 20 years from now because of the high print counts but oh well, maybe peach momoko will become president someday and it'll all pay off after all..lol
July 22Jul 22 CB Team The thing that bothers me the most is "brand synergy." Marvel does that a lot. Changing comic book characters in senseless ways just to echo the MCU.

I used to try to get as many Doom covers as possible as well, but it's completely overwhelming and takes up too much space. I feel bad for the completionists.

I actually prefer comic book characters to be different than the live-action versions. You can do so much more with comics than you can with movies.
July 28Jul 28 Please realize I grew up with Thanos and Phoenix being the scariest super-dupers(and the big guy Galactus)But I think maybe ramp down from the omnipresent Omega thing. The “wow” is getting a little diluted with SO many.I guess I just miss the Punisher kicking the crap out of Jigsaw every now and then.

Not everything has to be connected to a huge cosmic force. Sometimes it's nice to just stay street-level occasionally.
August 13Aug 13 I actually like characters never staying dead, to the point where any time they do stay dead it kind of upsets me.
August 21Aug 21 Sick of the relaunches and Marvel or DC starting over with #1s.Just stick to a launch and have it keep going like originaly.

It seems they have a new #1 every time I go to the comic shop. I used to try to buy the #1s but there's literally too many these days lol
August 25Aug 25 Yeah as everyone has said already - never staying dead and constant relaunches is tiring. Like I have absolutely loved FF since Ryan North took over - they relaunched it in the middle of the Emperor Doom story and they promised you would understand why and 15 issues into the relaunch and I still have no idea why. North is still writing it.
