August 5Aug 5 CB Team With Disney pulling the plug on Wonder Man, they seem to really be sending a message that the streaming era is over. There aren't any new live-action MCU or Star Wars shows that haven't already been shot. What do you think the future for Marvel and Star Wars on Disney+ is? It's hard to see them completely stop making new shows, but it certainly doesn't seem to be a priority anymore. Maybe moving forward, they see streaming as the place for animated stuff like X-Men '97 and Shadow Lord and they'll save live-action stuff for the movies?

August 5Aug 5 CB Team I'm not convinced that Disney won't get out of the streaming game in some way. I think D+ will still be a thing, but it may end up being more the landing pad for all other Disney productions, not just a spot for that AND originals

I think they ARE, however, going to be much more cautious about burning out their major IPs (Star Wars, Marvel, etc) with shows.
August 11Aug 11 CB Team I feel they might move from series to special presentations, which are easier, quicker, cheaper, and still allow them to mine important IP. That said, it's a bummer. The MCU had a few brilliant TV shows that deserved more love. Star Wars was mostly misses, though. Like, not Book of Boba Fett level of miss, but except for Andor and Mandalorian Season 1, everything felt... bland?
August 11Aug 11 CB Team I think they're right to pull back. Having to follow the movies and several TV shows a year was a big contributor to my Marvel fatigue. I think having a show now and again could work, but as more standalone projects rather than required viewing. That said, I adored WandaVision and Agatha All Along so if streaming is how we're going to get shows about Marvel's women, I'll take it.
August 11Aug 11 CB Team The future is anime for Star Wars! We're going to see the animated stuff still hit the platform, but wont see their big budget TV productions any more. Less risk overall
August 11Aug 11 CB Team Yeah, I think original content on Disney+ will mostly become special presentations and animations. It feels a bit of a shame; they're throwing the baby out with the bathwater imo.More Skeleton Crew, please, Lucasfilm!

Jude Law is great and I love the Amblinesque tone.
