Sadie Sink's MCU Character

With the surprise news that she's going to appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, I'm really starting to believe the rumor that she's playing Mayday Parker and is the daughter of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man. Anyone else?

I believe it, I just don't love it. Brand New Day was sounding good to me b/c it was more like the recent "Gang War" story arc in the comics: Spider-Man taking on NYC street problems with a big cast of both allies and foes caught in the mix. You start throwing in Mayday Parker, future timelines, multiverse, etc., and all that heady cosmic sci-fi stuff feels totally at odds with a street-level story that features Punisher and Hulk.

Just saying "Punisher and Mayday Parker" in the span of one movie's discussion is concerning.

And the mainline problem with the MCU lately is the issue of overstuffing characters into movies/TV shows for the sake of "shared universe."
But... it does make complete sense its here - especially if Maguire is coming back too.

Tobey is my favorite Spider-Man. I grew up with those films. They're the reason I got into all the superhero stuff. But I have very mixed feelings on this. Seeing Maguire again in No Way Home was great, but I feel like I don't need anything more than that. That was like a nice little coda to the Raimi trilogy. I should be stoked about seeing his daughter in a movie, but I'm not really.

Second what Kofi said. Having Mayday in Brand New Day flies in the face of the "street-level" story they've been trying to sell us. I don't really know how those elements are going to blend together. It just seems unnecessary.

I'd rather Mayday be introduced in the Spider-Man 4 Mattson Tomlin is trying to make.

The only way I accept Mayday being in Brand New Day is if the movie keeps her role a secret for the most part and sets her up for something bigger in Secret Wars. At this point, there's no hope of Secret Wars being grounded, so I'll chalk that up as a loss. Brand New Day still has a chance to keep the lid on itself, though, and I really think it should.

This is the biggest issue with the MCU trying to cram so much into one movie, that's why Tobeys Spider Man 3 wasn't good because they tried to cram too much into the movie

I honestly just assumed she was Mayday from the start. To be honest, I don't feel like the MCU is doing all that much that is surprising anymore. They're trying to do too much rather than simply tell a good story.

Just saying by looking at her hair color if you got to ask who you think she's playing then you need some help brotha lol

I feel that. I feel like they're trying to please everybody and including a lot of characters that are sex or gender changed to include everyone when it's kind of pushing away the people from Disney's content and aren't standing by the fans the people who pay the bills at Disney. Also they basically say we don't know what we want so they're going to give us what we want and that's not the case at all look at what happened to the live action Snow White that that's enough to convince me.

I actually think she could be Spider-Woman, since she’s basically the only major character who hasn’t officially appeared in the MCU yet… unless we count the Madame Web disaster. And honestly, I really liked how Sydney Sweeney looked as Julia Carpenter, but I’m not sure Marvel wants to revisit that storyline.

Another theory I love is the idea of her playing Starfire from Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends and showing up alongside Iceman. That would be insane, in the best way. And it would make total sense since Iceman is an X-Men character and Marvel is slowly bringing mutants into the MCU.

Yeah, she's definitely someone of note, there's no reason not to confirm who she's playing if it's a villain that no one even really knows (as new rumors are trying to make us believe)

I hope she's just like some new human character who's just around for stuff like Ned. MCU needs more of its random humans to react to everything wild going on, and Spider-Man won't have that anymore after everyone forgot him. He needs just like, a normal friend or something to talk to.

I desperately want her to be Jean Grey. I'll die on the hill. Jean has been so neglected but she'd be the perfect actor to finally do her justice. JUST DO MY X-MEN RIGHT GODDAMMIT.
