Will You Buy a PS6 If It Costs $700-$800

Will you buy the next Xbox or PS6 if the rumors are true and the consoles end up costing between $700 and $800? That price is getting way too close to $1000 for me, and given the lack of upgrade this gen has been compared to the previous gen, I think if this happens, I'll just stick it out with my current consoles for a few more years.

I don't really believe that the next consoles will be that high, as I see it maxing out at about $600. That's still high, but if we start getting to $800, it will probably be a no from me, at least on launch day. I would just wait it out until a year in or so and hopefully a price cut or grab one used.

Honestly? Probably yes, I'll just have to plan for it.

We haven't bought a new console in ages and played the crap out of the ones we have had. Since we're not the sort of people who go out and buy the new thing each time it comes out, our systems are more like investments anyway so I'd probably be willing to go around $800 if I knew we were going to utilize it for as long as we typically do.

It might depend on if there are any games I'm interested in that are PS6 exclusives at launch. If, say, Spider-Man 3 is cross gen and has a PS5 version, I might stick with my PS5 for a while.

lol no! I've hit the age where I don't need to play things as soon as they come out, and have very little free time overall. So at this point unless Kingdom Hearts 4 comes out as a PS6 exclusive I think I'm done buying new consoles just for the sake of them

Oh, I KNOW you'll be there with your $1200 when the special edition Kingdom Hearts 4 PS6 Pro comes out!

I tend to be a holdout on new console generations as it is. Until there are games I absolutely must play that are only on the newest console, I stick with what I have. Of course, given what I do for a living, PlayStation may well force my hand sooner than later on that front lol.

It would really depend on the games available at launch. I think the jump in visuals/performance from PS5 to PS6 is going to be more minimal than ever. I'm usually someone who tries to buy consoles on day one but I'm seeing less reason to do so with the upcoming next-gen platforms.
