  1. On top of that, the lighting is atrocious... Why have streaming companies collectively decided everything needs to be colorless and dark?
  2. What do you enjoy when it comes to TV shows? If, for any reason, you're not up to date with Marvel or DC, recent TV shows like The Penguin, Peacemaker, and Wonder Man are a must! Really great shows overall. If you need something with a lot of seasons, I will throw Sons of Anarchy into the ring. The first season starts slowly, but it picks up mid-season and keeps getting better. It's an amazing Shakespearean tragedy and has strong character work. For comedy series, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Office, and Community are TV shows that I still rewatch. They are great, so if you ever skipped any of them, now is the time.
  3. Overall, I'm enjoying it! Some episodes are stronger than others, but they managed to recapture the flow of the original run. I think some key charcters being absent is weird (what do you mean Carla needs extra shifts when Turk is Chief of Surgery? Did no one research medical salaries?). Still, I overall enjoy the new season, and I would definitely watch more if they renew it.
  4. I think Jean Grey, but I would love an MCU version of the Queen. It fits the mind control themes, it's connected to Spider-Man lore, and she gave Peter organic webs in the comics. Also, the Queen is the product of a failed experiment to make a superweapon, which resonates well with the Damage Control arc they are building. Make her less villainous in the MCU and voila! It would be a perfect fit!
  5. The closing act of Little Miss Sunshine. I couldn't stop laughing
  6. Sadly, I agree. I'm more curious about the next 3D Zelda, though. They can take an extra 3 to 4 years of development AFTER announcing it, so I hope we'll get an announcement soon.
  7. I agree with @Amanda Kay Oaks , it depends on the mileage you expect to put on the Switch 2. Pokopia alone is worth hundreds of hours of gaming (my clock is above 50 hours, and I still haven't reached the credits, and there's so much to do, I literally feel like I'm at the end of the tutorial). Of course, that's only reasonable if you play that kind of game for that long. Other Switch 2 titles are great, Donkey Kong Banaza among them. Also, I'm confident there will be a new mainline 3D Zelda and a new 3D Mario in the next couple of years. It's up to you to know if that sounds worth it.
  8. This. I feel that having a core group would have been more important than an overarching villain. We got neither, and now I just hope Secret Wars will clean the slate and allow better storytelling in the future.
  9. I felt the opening scene was weak. The action looked bad and uncoordinated, and the ship sinking turned into a CGI fest. That said, the episode does pick up from there, and I'm absolutely loving the new Fisk dynamics!
  10. Switch 2. I used to be a PC gamer. However, I've been doing all my work from home for years, in front of the computer. I like to change from my chair to the couch so my brain can switch from "work mode" to "game mode." The Switch was a game-changer, and now the Switch 2 supports even more games. Depending on the price, I'll also grab a GabeCube to plug my Steam library into my TV.
  11. Every single minute of free time I have is dedicated to giving my new Pokémon friends a better life
  12. I would also say Pokopia is very family-friendly if you have access to a Switch 2. I dislike the battle-centric mechanics of mainline Pokémon games because I think they clash with the narrative of a world populated by cute pets that share their lives with humans. Pokopia (and Pokémon Snap) give me all the rush without the battles.
  13. I don't think Viggo is coming back... he's quite protective of the books and has refused to return for The Hobbit because he felt it didn't make sense.
  14. That's fair! Also, Paddington 2 is one of the top 10 movies of all time... That thing is perfect!
  15. I didn't expect to enjoy it this much! Seriously, it has everything that made Animal Crossing a success, but with actual goals you can work for. I spent the weekend playing, and it's as great as @Amanda Kay Oaks told me it would be!
  16. I'll third this one! Yes, it's flawed, but it has some peak moments. The farm sequence is one of the best in the MCU, and the way they treat the Hulk as a tragic monster is great! I also loved how Black Widow began to become a character in this movie (sadly, they didn't do much with that...). Oh, and the levity of the Avengers Tower party is something I miss a lot from the current MCU movies. I like watching characters interacting with each other without having to fight to save the world, that helps them become people.
  17. Same here. And in the case of Fraction's run, removing the Joker wouldn't damage it at all! I absolutely loved the Croc issue, and I wish the series would stick closer to that idea of villains struggling with their wicked nature.
  18. This is the best answer.
  19. Not really... I also dislike The Hobbit and The Rings of Power, and even War of the Rohirrim was disappointing to me. It seems that even when the people behind the original trilogy get involved in other projects, they fail. So I'm not holding my breath for The Hunt of Gollum to be any different. In fact, given its cameo-focused approach, it might be even worse. I would love to be proved wrong, though.
  20. 2001: A Space Odyssey. I absolutely hated it in my first watch.
  21. This! I think what sets the starters apart from me is how they evolve. There are some evolutions that I truly dislike, but the basic forms are always great.
  22. I like the series overall, and the art is breathtaking (thank you, Jorge Jimenez!). That said, I still can't tell where the series is going, and I definitely didn't like its approach to the Joker. Every time someone tries to explain why the Joker is the Joker, that takes away from the character, in my opinion. Giving Joker this ultra-rational personality and all the meta-scientific explanations for why he is how he is just didn't work for me. What did you think?
  23. I need to give Nectar a try! This week I had: Matt Fraction's Batman Absolute Superman The Nice House by the Sea Hello Darkness Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rites of Spring I only read the DC titles. Absolute Superman was great! The spread pages were breathtaking, and I like how he's accepting his role as a symbol of hope. Plus, great twist on Parasite. I was not a fan of regular Batman... I didn't quite enjoy its approach to the Joker.
  24. This. I still don't know what they are aiming for. I trust Gunn would only approve a great script, and the showrunners are amazing. But the trailer felt weird, and not necessarily in a good way. Just weird.
