Supergirl Trailer Reaction - What Did Everybody Think?

The Supergirl trailer has finally arrived, and if you haven't had a chance to watch it yet, you can do so right here.

So now that the trailer is out, what did everyone think? Let us know in this thread!

As someone who adores Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, I can't say enough about how authentic this already feels in tone, even in this brief glimpse, and Milly Alcock's casting was perfect. Granted, would have loved to see more of Lobo, but you know they are saving that for down the road.

This movie looks awesome. I'm 100% on board with the tone and the vibe.

I'm biased because I'm a big James Gunn fan, but I am much more interested in the DCU than the MCU right now. Obviously, I'm still looking forward to Brand New Day and Doomsday, but I'm more excited for Supergirl and Clayface. Probably a byproduct of the DCU still being fresh and carving out its own identity.

Very much enjoyed the vibe. I wasn't excited to be necessarily in the same corner of the universe after Superman, but that trailer put those worries to bed.

I feel the same way in terms of DCU compared to MCU, just in terms of one is more compelling to me than the other. I also have to admit some bias in that regard though, as I'm a bigger DC fan in general than Marvel these days. Still excited for Doomsday though!

Yeah, for being in the Superman family, they feel very different, at least so far. If it follows the books as closely as it appears to, that shouldn't be an issue in the least.

It's a little disappointing that the color palette seems so dour compared to the comic, but I can't deny that tonally it seems like a blast.

This. Also, I'm not a fan of the Krem redesign... I can understand the reasoning, but the execution seems flawed. Hopefully, that changes when we see some acting.

Loved it. Always been on the fence about DC movies (more of a Marvel guy), but I really love the direction James Gunn is taking it all. Happy that it feels instantly different to Superman — spelling good news for the DCU's future! Milly Alcock is amazing too so I'm excited!

I actually liked it. It feels different from what we’ve seen before and a bit more grounded, which I appreciate. The tone looks promising, and I’m curious to see how they develop Supergirl as her own character instead of just tying her story to Superman.

It didn’t completely blow me away yet, but it definitely got my attention and made me want to see more.

Definitely gave enough juice to make me want to see the film ... which is the most we can ask of a trailer/teaser

This is the one element that sticks out most for me. I get you want to make him distinct, but it just seems odd without some context. Hopefully that happens in the movie, but on face value, not a fan of the redesign.

as long as we get those big cosmic sequences full of color in the film, I'm okay with them sort of hiding that from the teasers.
