Which January 2026 movie are you most excited to see?

Featured Replies

It's usually a quiet month, but there are some standouts in January:

  • Dead Man's Wire - Gus Van Sant's crime thriller with Bill Skarsgard, Dacre Montgomery, Colman Domingo, and Al Pacino.

  • 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

  • The Rip - Matt Damon and Ben Affleck reunited for Netflix's action thriller. Not a maths problem in sight.

  • Greenland 2: Migration - Gerard Butler disaster sequel. The original was a lot better than it's given credit for.

Anything else? Or is 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple the one everyone's going to spend their post-Christmas dollars on?

Has to be The Bone Temple. I know Nia DaCosta didn't get a fair shake with The Marvels, and I'm excited to see what she can do with more creative freedom.

Echo chamber but very excited for The Bone Temple. Also I’ve been itching for Greenland 2 for ages, love me a good disaster movie.

It's straight to Netflix rather than a theatrical release, but I am ready to be disappointed by the movie adaptation of People We Meet on Vacation. It's one of my favorite books in recent years, so I'm cautiously optimistic, though putting it out in early January is a baffling choice for such a summer-coded movie.

28 Years Later is a day one for me and I love Affleck/Damon, so count me in on The Rip. Seeing those guys back together in Air and The Last Duel was such a treat. The fact that they keep jumping across genres together is a lot of fun and I hope it is another winner for them and not a meh thriller.
