Last week I found my original copy of Vice Project Doom for the NES and I had completely forgotten what an absolute riot this game was. (Shout to my folks for keeping all my childhood possessions in plastic tubs all these years!) If you haven’t played VPD (aka Gun-Dec in JP), here’s the elevator pitch: released in 1991, it’s a genre-blending action adventure game for the NES set in a dystopian cyberpunk future. It mixes platforming, driving, and first-person shooter segments in a way that felt pretty ambitious for the time and for the most part it pulls it off. The story, the aesthetic, the difficulty curve — it all holds up better than I expected. (I remember back in the…

For the first time in over a decade, no new Trek shows or films have been greenlit or are in production. What do you think should happen next for Trek?

What did you think of the Lanterns trailer? I was definitely caught off guard by how grounded it was. Surprised we didn't see any ring powers or effects. Guess they're holding that back for closer to release. Still excited to watch the show though! Feels really different.

Season 5 of this series is coming out at the end of the month, so my wife and I have finally taken the plunge, and the series is well worth it. Anyone else watching? (or needing a reason to watch?) I promise it's great.

The weekend is finally here. What’s everyone planning to watch, read, or play over the next couple of days? Could be a movie, a new show, some comics, or a game you’ve been wanting to dive into.

if you haven't been watching Ted, now is the time to get on it. Don't think there's going to be a third season, but these two seasons prove why we all fell in love with Seth MacFarlane's work in the first place

Everyone has that one fandom that pulled them in and made them start collecting, watching everything, or diving into the lore. What was the first fandom you really got into?

For me, it's The Force Awakens' second teaser trailer - the "Chewie, we're home." This was the moment that it truly felt like Star Wars was BACK, I watched it on repeat so many times, talked about it non-stop, it still gets me. What's yours?

I said what I said. For real though it's a really fun story from my childhood and I feel like there's plenty to work with lore-wise to stretch out the story and fill out at least 5 seasons. The original run was cut short leaving the main quest incomplete. I go back and forth on whether this show's abrubt end or the D&D cartoon's was more disappointing. Gotta treat Konk with respect though, can't be letting Tim Curry down. Idk, maybe it's just nostalgia but the idea of a sentient slime roaming the ocean and sinking ships is a pretty sick idea. If the people handling the ip wanted to make it more geared for adults they could make the dark water do some gorey stuf…

Video game quality and monetization has gotten worse over the years but so has the gaming community. If our favorite games were released today, I think most people wouldn't like them.
