  1. Another one for me (seriously) is Muppets from Space. My lasting memory of that movie is me sobbing in the theater because I really thought Gonzo was going to leave the Muppets at the end (I was like 8 at the time, I didn't know any better). I'm fairly certain I have never rewatched it.
  2. I just don't understand why WB needed to be sold off in the first place. Why can't it just stay its own thing?
  3. Final voting for the Oscars opened today (finally... I'm ready for awards season to be over), so it got me wondering if any of you are rooting for a particular win this year. Best Picture seems to be between One Battle and Sinners. I'm fine with either winning. Love both. I think it would be cool if Amy Madigan won Best Supporting Actress. It'd be a different and exciting kind of move for them. Oscars usually aren't known for awarding horror movies. It'd be like when Marisa Tomei won for a comedy.
  4. I wouldn't say it still haunts me today, but I remember being legit creeped out by Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin when I saw Spider-Man in theaters as a kid.
  5. I'm excited for God of War. The Norse era games are some of my all time favorites (haven't played the Greek trilogy - can't wait for the remake!). I like that they're expanding upon the story by including characters from Ragnarok so early. Good way to keep someone like me on my toes anticipating what comes next.
  6. For the longest time, I figured one would move to avoid the direct competition. Unlike Barbenheimer, Doomsday and Dune are ostensibly targeting a similar audience. But now I think we're just on course for the head to head showdown. Dune just locked in the exclusive IMAX run. WB isn't gonna want to give that up. Both of the Barbenheimer movies nearly made $1 billion, so there's a precedent for "Dunesday" to be just as massive.
  7. I think if they focus on the Spider-Verse and have each project revolve around a different Spider-Man variant, it could work.
  8. Over the weekend, I had a chance to try out the free Pragmata demo Capcom released. It was cool to finally play a bit of that game. I've been looking forward to it since it was announced years ago. The hacking mechanic is pretty cool. Adds something to the combat so it's not just running and shooting. Probably gonna take a bit to get into the swing of that though. I took some hits during the boss fight because I was so focused on the hacking I forgot to dodge.
  9. Most of the time I'm watching something from my Blu-ray collection, but my most watched streaming service is probably Disney+ because it has all the Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar stuff. I have Netflix, HBO Max, etc. but I'll only watch those on occasion when there's a new movie or show I want to watch.
  10. Another good one
  11. First one that came to mind. Probably because I just listened to the Big Picture's 25 for 25 episode on it:
  12. I want the opening shot of the X-wings against the sunset framed on my wall
  13. I'm really annoyed Guerrilla's next game is the Horizon live service thing. I just want Horizon 3. I became a PlayStation fan because of all these great single player games. I wonder if Bend will be the next one to go. I would have preferred they just got a chance to make Days Gone 2. Hope they're able to get something made soon.
  14. I just wanted to shout out the cinematography. Watched the trailer again and it looks very strong visually.
  15. Still trying to wrap my head around the Bluepoint news from yesterday. I can't believe Sony is just shutting that studio down. Wanted to create a thread where we gamers could vent and talk about the great work Bluepoint did. I played their Shadow of the Colossus and Demon's Souls remakes, plus the Uncharted collection they worked on. Anger was the first feeling I had after seeing the news. Sony had this team working on a God of War live service game? Why? Who was asking for that? Sony's pivot to live service this gen really blew up in their face and it's sad. Bluepoint should have been working on remakes for any one of the classic PlayStation IPs fans want to see again. They could have handled the God of War trilogy and maybe then that comes out last year for the 20th anniversary instead of still being in "early development."
  16. Looking forward to the full review! That's a shame about the combat. That's always been a strength of God of War. I might pick it up eventually, but it's certainly not at the top of my list. Especially with Requiem right around the corner
  17. I am planning on getting it at launch. My rule is to wait for the reviews before pre-ordering anything, but I'm confident I'll love this game. Most looking forward to playing as my boy Leon again.
  18. I've been rewatching The Mandalorian, and I always feel a bit sad when Carl Weathers pops up on screen, knowing he won't be back in the movie. This has made me wonder, what would be the best way for Mando and Grogu to handle the character of Greef Karga? I'd imagine if they were going the recast route, something would have been revealed by now. Are they gonna tastefully write him out by saying he died off screen? Will he still be alive (and just not appear), leaving the door open for a recast down the line? Really bums me out we won't see Weathers in the role again. You could tell he had a lot of fun playing that character.
  19. I was one of those fans who doubted whether we needed Toy Story 4 and I ended up loving that movie. Not gonna make the same mistake this time around. I'm just excited for 5 and I think it looks great.
  20. Has anyone here played Sons of Sparta since it was shadow dropped last week? I'm wondering if it's worth picking up or not. I love the modern God of War games (haven't played the Greek saga yet), but I'm not the biggest fan of 2D games and that Metacritic score is solid not great. I've got so many other things to play, but willing to give Sons of Sparta a chance if it's good.
  21. I'm gonna go chalk and say Pikachu
  22. The original Kena is fun. Reminded me a lot of PS2 era action platformers. I think a lot of people compared it to the original Jak and Daxter when it came out. For an indie developer's first ever game it was very impressive
  23. There are a lot of games I'm looking forward to this year, but only a handful have release dates through May. I'm still waiting on release dates for: Wolverine (I know they said fall), Control 2, Tomb Raider remake, Halo remake, Kena sequel, Onimusha, Plague Tale, etc. I know publishers want to steer clear of GTA 6, so are we gonna get a bunch of these crammed together in the summer to get ahead of GTA? That doesn't seem best for everyone either. What are the odds some of these get pushed to 2027?
  24. If Send Help counts as a nerdy thing, then I'd say that. I enjoyed that movie. It was fun. I really liked the performances.
  25. Is that Martin Scorsese voicing the alien at the beginning?
